A large pro-legalization group ranks Paul above all Democratic candidates.

Sen. Rand Paul bested his rivals for the White House in a candidate report card issued Friday by the Marijuana Policy Project, one of the largest organizations pushing to regulate the drug like alcohol.

The group gave the Kentucky Republican an A- in recognition of his efforts to overhaul federal drug laws and his support of states’ right to legalize marijuana.

Second place – a B+ – went to former Sen. Jim Webb, D-Va., who has not officially announced a bid, and Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island, a former Republican seeking the Democratic nomination.

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, an independent also seeking the Democratic nomination, got a B, as did former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, a Republican who favors reducing criminal penalties...

after the SC legalizes Pot, what next for the Libertarians? They got gay marriage, the GOP agrees so will they start demanding Libertarian economics now? The Dems won’t pander to that.

Just like Prohibition the war on drugs has been a failure. Anyone can get illegally drugs very easily.

I don’t care for pot or any other mind altering substance, but I view it the same way as Alcohol or cigarettes.

Legalize it to decriminalize it, tax it and treat it the same way as Alcohol and cigarettes.

I agree with Paul on this issue.

Oh so you think it's “Conservative” for the STATE TO DICTATE POLICY to you what you can and cannot do?

Well here is a news flash for you GENIUS!!!....

Illegal drugs today were not illegal until after Prohibition was overturned..... In other words you could buy all these illegal drugs today up until Prohibition was overturned.

Prior to that from 1787 up until end of Prohibition it was legal.................../ and NOT illegal you dumb@ss! Then you have the AUDACITY to call me a moral relativist?

You OBVIOUSLY DO NOT UNDERSTAND what the word “moral relativist” means? Here is a little advice. Learn what a word means before you use it.

If illegal drugs today were made ILLEGAL AFTER PROHIBITION was overturned at a later time, then YOU ARE THE MORAL RELATIVIST.

I am taking the position of the Founding Fathers while your dumb “CLUELESS, brainwashed, uninformed, probably childless, moral relativist” ass is taking the CONTROL FREAK STATIST position.

IDIOT!!!

Why? Are you big on tax increases and fully funding the Goliath State?

Tax it because “Rehab” is very expensive.

It is considered one of the main factors that was driving health care cost up prior to and after Obama-care went into law.

I agree.

That’s because you are a brainwashed, uninformed,

I'll match my knowledge of the subject against yours any day.

probably childless,

I have 2 kids, whom criminalization has done nothing to protect from drugs.

moral relativist.

Not everything that's immoral should be illegal. That's not moral relativism but a recognition of the limits of government.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwww, poor baby, oh UNenlightened1.

Here's a news flash for YOU; oh uneducated one!

Alcoholism was rampant in America, from its beginnings. Even small children drank beer for breakfast. You might also delve into that, as well as the fact that the twin goals of the Abolitionists were were scourges of slavery and drink !

Your abysmal lack of historical knowledge, combined with the problems now being caused by legal pot in two states, is appalling!

Unlike you, I know and understand very well the meaning of what a moral relativist is and you are one; not to mention the fact that you are woefully un/ill educated, far too emotional to be able to debate on any level, let alone well, and neither do you know the position of the FFs on ANY topic !

Oh gee......I hit you on every nerve possible and them some, I see. GOOD....now go and truly become "enlightgened" by actually learning some real FACTS !

“Our country is falling apart

and the libertards just want their drugs”

If they keep getting their way, we all might. The highest percentage of drug abuse in this country was during the civil war (opium). Crappy times call for an opiate of the masses.
