Donald Trump to Visit Iowa After Upcoming NYC Announcement

Donald Trump is scheduled to make an announcement on whether he'll run for president Wednesday, and he will reportedly travel to Iowa later that day for a rally.

According to the Des Moines Register, Trump's Iowa staff confirmed the news.

"I can't imagine what he's announcing," Ryan Keller, deputy director for Trump's exploratory team in Iowa, told the Register. "We're all waiting for that."

Trump, a Republican, said last week he has made up his mind on a possible presidential run, but has not revealed his plans. His Wednesday announcement will take place at Trump Tower in New York City, and he is reportedly due to travel to New Hampshire the day after that.

The Register received a copy of the invite to the Wednesday Iowa event, which will happen in Des Moines. The invite is also available on Eventbrite.

Trump trails several other candidates and potential candidates in major national polls, but it's unknown whether his stock among voters will rise if he officially joins the race. Trump did, however, fare well in a recent New Hampshire poll.

Trump has been outspoken about current political issues, from the battle against the Islamic State (ISIS) to the nation's crumbling infrastructure.

Dr. Ben Carson, a retired neurosurgeon, is running for president and, like Trump, he has no political background. And that's OK, Carson said over the weekend.

"Our government is incredibly inefficient at this stage right now," Carson said. "There are a lot of people in politics who are wise and can solve our problem, but there's some people in politics I wouldn't let tie my shoes."

I wish Trump would announce today so he could give the TPP the ghetto beatdown it so richly deserves before the big vote.

The job attracts big egos: Barack “All About Me” Obama; Bill “All About Me” Clinton; George W. “All About Me” Bush, Richard “All About Me” Nixon, Jimmy “All About Me” Carter” et al. Ronald Reagan was the last president to put country before ego. This is age of “selfie” egotism. Trump is up front ego. Doesn’t hide it like the rats in DC. He wants to take credit for turning the country around and saving it from the insane left. He really gets their goat. Good. Maybe we need somebody who can really dish it out to the enemies of the freedom.

Wasn't my point at all, however, it does prove that Trump would not be in it from any sense of duty, honor, doing the right thing for the country, or altruism.

Trump would only do it for Trump.

He's not fit for that kind of leadership.

Like his style or not, Trump shakes things up and makes the Washington elites very nervous. Anyone outside the corrupt Washington cabal who defends America, rips the federal leviathan for total incompetence, and attacks Obama (also questions his pedigree) is fit to run and challenge these empty suit politicians.

This isn't about "his style." It is about whether he would be a good leader, and given his past donations to Democrats and his evolving towards Gay Marriage and that Trump really only cares about Trump, he would make a terrible Leader and an absolutely terrible POTUS.

I get it. You don’t like Donald Trump. I’ve listened to him on Hannity more than several times and if you cut through the chaff, there’s a lot of wheat that makes sense. If the final contest pitted Donald Trump vs. Elizabeth Warren, who would you vote for, if you had to vote?

No, you don't get it.

I like Trump when he acts in a conservative manner, and I dislike Trump when he doesn't.

Given his past progressive tendencies and his "It's all about Trump" character, I don't trust Trump further than I can throw him to be a conservative.

Ergo, I could never vote for him.

No Trust, No Vote.

I don't play that game anymore. The last time I did it, was with McCain, because of Palin.

If Trump is the candidate, I'll find a third-party candidate that I can trust to represent me.

My vote is sacred.
