It is mostly not about trade, only 5 of the 29 Chapters are about traditional trade.
The others are about regulating the internet, and what information internet service providers have to collect, they have to hand it over to companies under certain circumstances, the regulation of labor conditions, regulating the way you can favor local industry, regulating the hospital, health care system, privatization of hospitals, so essentially every aspect of a modern economy, even banking services are in the TPP.
By putting it in a treaty form, there are 14 countries involved, that means it is very hard to overturn ... Then you can't easily change the TPP treaty, because you have to go back to the other nations involved.
...what if the government or a state government decides it wants to build a hospital somewhere, and there is a private hospital has been erected nearby. The TPP gives the constructor of the private hospital the right to sue the government over the expect loss, the loss in expected future profits. This is an expected future loss, this is not an actual loss that has been sustained, this is a claim about the future.
It is not even an even playing field, lets say you were going to let companies, make it easier for companies to sue governments, maybe that is right, maybe the government is too powerful and companies should have the right to sue them in certain circumstances.
But it is only multinationals that get this right. U.S. companies that operate in the U.S. in relation to investments that happen in the U.S. will not have this right.

For the Tea Party and Liz Warren to be in full agreement on something, this REALLY has to be a lousy deal.
Correction: Headline should read: TPP (TransPacific Partnership Treaty) etc.
Hey, at least we all KNEW what was in it. Oh, wait...........uh, never mind. And nobody had a Minox that went to the basement to review it? WTH? Where’s ed snowden when you need him?
It’s strange when I feel allied with Julian A.
And why are we writing legislation about the government building hospitals?
or the opposite.....agreeing with union thugs is almost never a good thing....
The GOP has been the motive force in making the TPP into law. The TPP is the first step toward a one-world currency just as the EEC was the first step toward the Euro.
We do not have a two party system. We have one elitist party with two supposed wings to control the two basic worldviews of Americans. The vast majority of us lap up this obviously phony system because each side tells its constituents what they want to hear.
Keep in mind that most congressional support for this law came from Republicans.
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
THAT'S HOW HE WILL 'GET AROUND CONGRESS' AND THAT PESKY CONSTITUTION!
A TREATY, ONCE RATIFIED, BECOMES THE LAW OF THE LAND!
NO WONDER THEY DON'T WANT PEOPLE TO SEE IT!
It’s reported that the text of a few important chapters (out of 29 total) have been posted at Wiki-Leaks.
I’m waiting for the part about banning guns to come out. So then the jacka$$es that voted for this thing to say”I didn’t know”.
This really sounds like more government than I want to deal with.
I bet there is stuff in there that will make us into a total socialist country. All hidden within a so-called ‘Free Trade Treaty’.................
Then what are the other 24 chapters about?........................

Dr. Thorne: Good summary of the treachery of the political class in Washington. In 1994-5, I first heard Dr. Michael Savage (Borders, Language, Culture) liken the two political parties to two crime organizations, different godfathers but same ends: money and power. He said the parties had struck an “accomodation” long ago and take their turns at the helm. He called them Democans and Republicrats. I didn’t believe him at the time, but now it’s obvious as both parties are out of their respective closets. Savage was intellectually far ahead of the other major conservative talk radio hosts most of whom have swallowed the propaganda of the Republican party establishment hook, line, and sinker for years. Limbaugh, Hannity, Ingraham, and Levin are late to the revelation and seem to be in different stages of either awareness or indifference.

So the signatories can send their elites to our hospitals instead of their govt. hospitals and they won't have to pay for it and we won't have any say in the matter.
