So, you are sending your teen off to the prom.

You went shopping…bought that perfect outfit.

You paid to get their hair and nails done, maybe rented a car, she has her date – you snap a picture

… and …

Oh… Wait a minute….

As your teen exits you ask them,”Do you have a condom?”

Uh – NO!!!!

But, the largest chain of abortion clinics and raunchy sex-advise does: IMAGE ON LINK

You can’t make this stuff up.

Yep. We can crack jokes about the left but they usually come true.

Well, duh. I went to the prom in 1979 and 1980 and all the guys brought condoms. Some got to use them.

I’m sure boys did it when I went to the prom in the late 80’s but I sure don’t recall Planned Parenthood reminding us to do it. That would have caused an outrage.

It might have, but back then teen girls didn’t want to get pregnant and teen boys didn’t want to get married at 17, so we did what we had to do.

Today, you can’t slut-shame the sluts. You can’t make the boys marry their baby-mama. The parents are in denial that their little honor student isn’t having sex...as she goes off to the prom wearing a thong under a skin-tight dress.

So, condoms are better than abortions, right? PP is right in this case.

What would be interesting would be an investigative report on how many mothers of young ‘ladies’ who encourage birth control

No PP is not correct. Prom night is NOT the night to do the nasty, that is your wedding night. Some things are sacred and still should be.

Use some sense. PP is a big, big business. They make most of their money off abortions. They know exactly how to create new business.

The difference between 1978 and today is no one had to tell us to carry a condom to the prom. And...we brought ours home still wrapped up in the wallet.

Yeah...
....no, What always was, always will be, we are not close to a 100% enlightened teen crowd. (Lord knows that I and all my friends marched to our own drummer until we got married and THEN got religion). And I agree with you that planned parenthood is right about nothing and should be barred from any community activist rolls they now have. But protection is by no means abortion and if it's gonna happen on prom night, don't forget your rubbers.

I had a round wear mark indelibly marking the leather of my wallet in HS. I was Semper Paratus in HS. Only later was there any need to replenish my stock.

And some were too old to be of any use.

Broken clocks. PP is right this time.

I agree. But if the kids don’t take that advice, what do you do? Expecting abstinence in a post-Christian society is foolish.

Everyone is a big business these days. The Roman Catholic Church is a big business that dwarfs PP by a couple orders of magnitude. I am using sense by using my intellect and not my emotions.

My point was that 35 years ago, kids had sex on prom night. Probably 50 years ago they did too. I know that I was born four months after my (by then married) graduated from high school. So, I was at their prom.

Use some sense. PP did not invent teen sex.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the “other” articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
