Coca Cola Runs Ad Campaign Featuring Gay Family; "We Choose Happiness over Tradition"

Coca Cola is running ads that will appear on buses and signs featuring a gay couple and their adopted child.

The ad shows a picture of two men holding a baby, playing with crayons. A bottle of Coca Cola is next to them.

Over their heads reads, "We choose happiness ~over~ tradition. -the Van Bergen family." In the bottom right corner it reads, "#choosehappiness:"

The ad implies that, though their family is not "traditional," the Van Bergens are happy. They also drink Coke:

Even favorable studies show that half of homosexual male couples openly admit to being in “open relationships”.

I don’t know, but I have preferred generic or even the Mexican brands of soda, because it often saves a few cents, per bottle or can, which has a way of adding up.

I choose no more Coke. I won't even bother to switch to Pepsi, because if their not on board yet with this satanic agenda, they will be shortly.

I think I'll just drink straight carbonated water or just regular water. It's better for a person anyway.

With no reference point of goodness acknowledged, people are suckered into a colossal degree of evil.

The great struggle for those who continue to adhere to the Lord is to keep some kind of balance. If these events cause Coke to genuinely offend you, you should no longer consume it. But it isn’t a scriptural necessity not to consume it, either. And the naughty list simply grows to the point that no human can hope to keep up with it.

I agree.

I was in a store tonight in the check out line. I would have bought a Diet Coke but remembered my little personal boycott.

When you find one, let me know.

Been on sweet tea forever... Get a gallon of water boiling, throw in 3 tea bags, turn it off and let it cool. Refrigerate. Sweeten to taste. Costs pretty much nothing.

I believe the biblical example of the meat purchased from an idol worship temple is apropos here. It can be consumed with valid thanks to God regardless of its original purpose. But it should not be, if to do so would overwhelm you with thoughts of evil or would mislead someone else at the scene about what you believe in.

I think wistfully of the wholesome Coke image of old. It’s the same formula.

What America needs is the Spirit that adds Life. The undevil.

I agree there is no biblical issues with consuming Coke. It’s just a personal choice.

A major problem we have now is that people don’t fear God. They know what the Bible says about homosexuality but they just ignore it. They ignore it, try to dilute it, or deny it. There will come a day.

It is not an easy challenge, but it is a challenge that, in principle, and according to much evidence in practice too, the gospel can conquer.

And it also focuses on the averages of the married ones too, which seems a real shocker considering that if some of them were in a committed relationship, it might actually make some good effects.

Plenty of people out there, including a former Olympic gold medalist, have had HIV longer than Magic Johnson has.

Yep, the diving medalist, tested positive in 1987, IIRC, plus there was also, IIRC, the incident of blood on the diving board.

I remember him whacking his head on the board. I think they showed the replay a hundred times or so.

I had forgotten all about him. Do you think they access to experimental drugs?

It was broadcast about the success of AZT on him and others when the HIV suppressing drug came out.
