So much for the nail-biter: Conservatives win big in British election

Resurgent right.

Conservatives in Britain are quite a bit less conservative than U.S. Republicans, which I suppose is quite the caveat given what we’ve seen in the McConnell/Boehner era. But they’re still the center-right alternative to the very left-wing Labour Party, and British voters decided once again yesterday that they’d rather keep their government in the hands of those on the right side of the aisle.

The Conservatives look to end up with 329 seats, which is three more than they need for an outright majority. Labour won only 228 seats.

It wasn’t really that close, and much as we saw with last month’s Israeli elections, this came as quite the shock to legacy media who were convinced the race was going to be a nail-biter:

Prime Minister David Cameron enjoyed a surprise triumph in the British election Friday as his Conservative Party appeared poised to win a narrow outright victory over a faltering opposition.

Canada is the next major battlefield between left and right with their parliamentary elections in the fall. I sense another trouncing of the left.

They should be called the Conservative-In-Name-Only Party.

“It wasn’t really that close, and much as we saw with last month’s Israeli elections, this came as quite the shock to legacy media who were convinced the race was going to be a nail-biter:”

The only people who believe that this was close was the leftwing media who instead of reporting the truth, tried to create the new truth.

EPIC.....FAIL!

Given what happened in Alberta the other night, I’d be hedging that prediction a bit.

Albertans elected a left-wing government for the first time in decades. If they wanted t kill their economy, they just found an excellent way to do it.

Just the latest attempt by the media to influence an election through phony polling data. I guess the Brits aren’t as dumb as our Grubers.

I still get Conservative Party emails until now (even after I left in 07’ after helping Harper win in BC) and unlike GOP spam irrelevant emails, they usually come with poll and stats info. It looks good for now, even in my former lefty province.

This article from the Mirror sounds just like the caterwauling from the leftists here when they lose. Both the article's tone of doom and the comments are enjoyably rich reading as well! It won't be long until the US press vomits up visually exaggerated hooey like this...

So in merry old England we have a “two party” system with the extreme left, the extreme right, and the Cameron wing of the right. The Cameron wing, or moderates, won a “landslide”. Exactly where does that leave conservatism? Somewhere in the McCa... oops somewhere in the Bus... no maybe somewhere in the Cameron?

What “extreme right” party in England? Whatever it is, it must be similar to our Repub party, as what they call the “conservative party” in England is about like our Dem party.

Notice that nothing’s changed in the U.S. Congress since the “Republican landslide”?

Nothing will change in Old Blighty, either. In both cases, it’s the same-old same-old.

Really. Cameron is so far left he acts like an incontinent, giddy groupie (think Christie with Jerry Jones) when he's around Barack Hussein Obama, mmm...mmm...mmm.
