Free Republic is apparently closely monitored as an information source.
A little while ago I did a google search, "Did Baltimore Officers request medical assistance for Gray during transport?"
As I scrolled down the page, Free Republic caught my eye. It was my own post from an earlier thread citing theconservativetreehouse.com site that has audio of transmissions between officers, dispatch and EMTs while they were transporting Gray. This information completely blows the case that the prosecutor filed against the officers out of the water. I wanted to see if anyone else has reported this information. As far as I can tell no one else has.
I give that site credit for finding information that no one else has first. They were instrumental in mounting a defense for Zimmerman and it looks like they may be key in this case. Check it out.
Kristinn and Xzins did a wonderful job clearing that up.
Are you referring to the audio? Where do I go for that? I’m not familiar with Kristin and Xzins.
Great, welcome newbies... bout time you saw the light
I know what you are saying, and you are right, but Google monitors everything.
Just try this;
Make a post on FR, say something unique.
Now, COPY the text, then go to GOOGLE and PASTE that text in to search.
It will show up.
FR is closely monitored by Government Google. Very closely monitored, almost in real time.
Unusual.
One can see the googlebots all over the site.
I hope we’re monitored by candidate’s campaigns.
I don’t think our goal should be mounting a defense for these cops.
It should be to find the truth. Maybe they’re guilty, maybe not. The charges filed are certainly politically inspired, but that of itself doesn’t make them untrue.
What makes them untrue are the state statute, the city code, and the audio transmission that refutes the charges that they did not seek medical help for him.
I don’t think our goal is to ignore evidence that exonerates these officers either.
Your personal search history can have a large effect on the search results you see. Not everyone would get the same results you did. If you repeat the search in a private (or incognito) window, you’re likely to get different results.
You may have noticed I said our goal should be to find the truth. If the truth is that they didn’t commit the crimes, then they should be defended. I’m fine with looking for evidence that doesn’t fit The Narrative.
We should also, of course, look for evidence of guilt. Cops DO such things, you know.
Although Monday I got a lesson in how patient some cops can be. My neighbor across the back fence had an altercation with another neighbor he accused of trying to steal stuff from his garage. Very loud, very abusive and profane. He called cops.
They came and were unable to obtain any real evidence that a crime had been committed. Whereupon he switched his abuse to the cops for over half an hour. You could hear him at least a block away.
Cops calmly listened to him and then left. Incredible patience and forebearance.
Those cops in Baltimore took a lot of abuse during those riots, being spit upon, having bricks and curses hurled at them. Awful.
The experience in your neighborhood isn’t really all that uncommon, unfortunately. My best friend’s son was killed in the line of duty, so I have a great deal of empathy for what they endure on the job.
Was Freddy observed acting in a suspicious manner-specifically, some action or actions which might cause the police to believe he was dealing drugs? Was he acting like someone there to 'score'? Was he known to the officers involved (as a previous offender)?
If those actions/criteria preceded the eye contact which led Freddie to flee, then there is likely probable cause to believe Freddie was doing something wrong--hence, pursuit, search, and arrest.
I'm not saying any of this is tidy in terms of the Constitution, just saying that fleeing is commonly an attempt to get enough distance between self and pursuit to dispose of incriminating evidence and/or weapons, and as such could be considered probable cause.
(Walk, don't run, to the nearest exit...)
Spot on!

When the president, mayor, prosecutor, and judge all exhibit predudice against defendants, a fair defense of these cops are in order

The natural disposition is always to believe. It is acquired wisdom and experience only that teach incredulity, and they very seldom teach it enough. The wisest and most cautious of us all frequently gives credit to stories which he himself is afterwards both ashamed and astonished that he could possibly think of believing. - Adam Smith, Theory of Moral SentimentsSince we cant count on being better than the wisest and most cautious of us all, it behooves us to pool our incredulity here on FR. That, to me, is the enduring mission of a conservative forum.
