Hillary: Growing Up in Chicago Area, It Was ‘Farms Fields As Far as the Eye Could See’

(snip)

“On a personal basis, the first time I ever met anyone in our country working was when I was about 12 years old, as I recall,” she said. “Through my church, I was recruited, along with some other girls in Sunday school, to serve as babysitters on Saturday for the small children so the older children could join their parents in the fields. Because believe it or not, when I was growing up in the Chicago area, it was farm fields as far as the eye could see. The migrants, immigrant laborers would come up, up through the Midwest, up to Chicago, up to Michigan. We were asked to try to help out.”

She's never going to be "as smooth" a liar as that famous spouse of hers.

It is true that many of the western burbs still had some large active farms well into the late 1970s. I grew up in one. But I seriously doubt that Hillary made it any farther west than Oak Park.

I will say, 20-25 miles to the WNW of her in Park Ridge, there were still farms (an oddball might’ve been closer). But those days are over.

Preposterous to say first time she met anyone working in our country was when she was 12 years old, in her first sentence.

And so she decided to eliminate her church’s purpose and those migrant children and their loving family members via political and financial support for the destruction of the traditional family in every single way possible - abortion, euthanasia, infanticide, assisted-suicide, health-care rationing, sexual deviancy and atheism.

So now she wants to be the nation’s baby-sitter? Is that what this is about?

I didn’t think Park Ridge was farm country.

This is why she only speaks in soundbites and talking points, or she does stuff like demand questions in advance for interviews or else packs her public appearances with plants.

She's clumsy, prone to lies that are easy to refute, and otherwise is a horrible off-the-cuff speaker.

I can't imagine her handlers are going to give her free rein to talk to voters like a normal person.

I lived in the south suburbs and once you got 15 miles or so from the city it was mostly corn or sow bean fields.

That was in the late 70's and early 80's.

She’s building a bridge to the 20th century. These people sound self-reliant and holy.

How will she eventually justify Obamacare/single payer, disability increases, EBT cards, abortions, ghey unions, and interventionist wars forever?

One of my cousins claims to remember her at Main East. Park Ridge is the kind of 'burb that would raise a Hitlery.

I might also point out that, in the Chicago area, a slang term for an empty lot in a neighborhood was 'prairie'.

Hitlery is correct in saying that, back in the '60s, when we were both growing up, Illinois highway 53, west of the city, was the end of civilization. After Hwy 53, it was all soybean and corn fields. Now it's just another jammed up suburban main drag.

It wasn't all that long ago when I-88 literally ended in a corn field out in Sterling. Now, it's just the end of the East-West Tollway. (It's been long enough, tho, that they've named the road after some Democrat thief.)

Yessir, I was dodging sniper fire in the rice paddies of the mekong delta. Evading capture by the imperial japanese navy. Patton himself praised me for my bravery. Has anyone seen my good friend, john?

Maybe she means working as hard as they did in the fields ? I don’t understand her statement in any other context ?
