The ProScoutSports LLC blog ^ | April 29, 2015 | Todd Starowitz

The Buccaneers front office can spin it in whatever manner it wishes but on Draft Eve the brain trust has to be less comfortable than grandpa at a One Direction concert.

While you won't hear anything close to a "maybe" in his public presentation, Lovie Smith's tummy has to be flipping faster than a chef grilling fillets at Bern's.

Nothing safe about that pick. Ryan Leaf II.

Right now I think he’s too immature to lead an NFL team. Same with Manziel...

The Bucs have never given a QB two contracts. So if you grade on a curve sure, he’ll be entertaining on the field and probably won’t melt down any harder than any other Bucs QB.

I wouldn’t take either QB (for different reasons). Never understood a team like the Bucs (who need a QB) feel the need to take one this year. Next year Hackenberg and others will be out and it will be a better crop of QB’s (imo).

“Is Jameis Winston the Safe Pick for the Bucs?”

No, complete head case! I liken him to Jamarcus Russell who played for LSU then bombed in the NFL.

“what? besides rape and multiple theft, what’s the problem? and yes I believe he was guilty of the rape.”

Believe? Friends/witnesses had used a cell phone to record the rape then erased it later!

There was a report in the Orlando Sentinel last week which cited a statistical study comparing successful NFL #1 pics in the past with the current crop, especially Winston. According to the stats anyway, he has about a 70% chance of failure, not to mention his other problems.

in the end, like Aaron Hernandez, they’ll take him. Would love a miracle and see Tebow rise to the top. But he just has such Bad reaction time. Doesn’t read the field well. Sometimes I couldn’t believe the passes he made and he would jump thinking it was a touchdown as the ball sailed into the sidelines.
pray this new trainer fixed him. a lot of raw talent.

I don’t think he is a safe pick for any team.

The Bucs couldn’t win if they had a mixture of Aaron Rogers, Tom Bradley and the Manning brothers. Winston is a risky pick for anyone.
