150 New Jersey State Troopers Headed To Baltimore In Riot Aftermath
Patch ^ | April 28, 2015 | Anthony Bellano

New Jersey will send 150 state troopers to help deal with rioting in Baltimore, Maryland Governor Larry Hogan said during a news conference on Tuesday.

“We’re asking for volunteers and donations,” Hogan said. “We’ve been in communication with other states to bring in resources. Governor Christie in New Jersey has agreed to send in 150 New Jersey State Troopers and assets to help us.”

The Governor’s Office confirmed the deployment on Twitter.

“I spoke directly with Maryland Governor Larry Hogan last night and let him know that New Jersey is offering our full support and solidarity in their efforts to protect the lives and well-being of the people in the City of Baltimore while calm and order are being restored....There will be a full deployment of 150 New Jersey State Police and personnel, and 100 of those troopers will provide operational support. Approximately 50 enlisted and civilian personnel will provide investigative and logistical support. New Jersey State Police will be on the ground for an initial term of 72 hours, per the request from Maryland.”

The Governor’s Office said it will provide more detail later Tuesday.

Baltimore has been under a State of Emergency since Monday.

There are already 500 members of the National Guard in the city, with about 1,000 more expected to come in on Tuesday, Hogan said.

The riots came in the aftermath of the April 19 death of Freddie Gray. The 25-year-old Baltimore man died in police custody from a mysterious spinal injury, which has prompted a week of demonstrations.

On Monday, Baltimore Police warned that some of the most dangerous gangs in the country were coming together to target police departments nationwide.

The riots began hours after Gray’s funeral on Monday.

H/T to our FRiend 2ndDivisionVet for this report.

About 150 NJ troopers en route, 1500 NG troops on the ground presently.

There is already evidence (on another FR thread) that Soros money is helping back the rioters. We are seeing the same national players as we did during Ferguson. And the appaling statements coming from the "black community" are anything but calming.

Is a “national divorce” in the offing? And what would it look like?

Has Governor Hogan in reality instituted a state takeover of Baltimore? Excellent.

If I was a cop-I wouldn’t go one inch out of my way for that crowd.

Whatta waste of time.

Set up bleachers, sell popcorn and keep score.

Cops v. Orks

Baltimore ain’t gonna change until it depopulates like Detroit, might as well accelerate the process

My sympathy is for the New Jersey State Troopers and national Guardsmen. The people of Baltimore, well they started the crap. How? well for one thing, they elected the Mayor. She told the rioters that the police would protect them as they destroyed the city. She did not use those words, but her meaning was plain. For the people who voted for her, good you are getting what you deserve. For the people who did not vote for her, get the hell out while you still can. And last, but not least, along with her implied message that the police would protect the rioters, was the implied threat that any White person protecting themselves would have the full force of the law coming down on them. Once again, I feel sorry for the State Troopers and National Guardsmen that are to be thrown into this shit that was caused by the Democrats. They are being placed in a no win situation for them.

Soros is always there to 'stir the pot'... but blacks are use to being used...

Seems everyone on the left uses blacks for political gain. And the left never solves their problems... God, I would hate to be black.

We should help Asian business people who were burned out - help them relocate to a more civilized place and ignore the Soros tantrum feedings... Really, the left does this stuff to get attention.

So what legal authority does a New Jersey State Trooper have in Maryland?

Whatever authority Maryland’s governor gives them, I suppose.

Remember the "good ole days" when that was called inciting a riot?

I guess you’ve never been to an old-fashioned cowboy movie, where the local sheriff deputized every able-bodied man in sight.

Soros and others like him want the chaos.....(another story)....and no surprise the same people came out of the woodwork as in Ferguson.

I’ve been watching the activists on twitter .....despicable people purposely going around to “find people that hate blacks so we can expose them”. And worse...blaming the police for all the destruction in Baltimore and Ferguson. These are not black activists...the gay community activists gravitate to these events as well.

Can you believe the Baltimore council member ‘apologized’ for calling the rioters “thugs”!!!...I’m so sick of these leaders that I have to pull away from their comments!

On another thread is a photo of a small Asian family being helped by the police ‘to escape’ from the rioting.....

Wonder if I'm the only one having difficulty suppressing rage at the black community leadership after yet another ‘performance’ of just what they won't STILL admit is a major problem in their communities. It's the Presses fault...it's the cops fault...it's the schools fault...it's the governments fault....even the Mayor will not accept her own decisions she's made in her city! Until the leadershhip sees...there is no hope their communities will change.
