Gov. Scott Walker is set to serve as the keynote speaker for a voucher school summit next month in New Orleans.

The American Federation for Children announced Tuesday that Walker would speak May 18 at the opening lunch for the summit.

"Gov. Scott Walker is a tremendous leader who has been a relentless advocate for educational choice," Betsy DeVos, chairwoman of the group's board of directors, said in a release.....

Walker's latest two-year budget plan, which is currently being considered by the Legislature's powerful budget committee, would expand school vouchers statewide.

Ted Cruz advocates getting rid of the Dept. of Education. He wants all educational authority back in the hands of states and local communities.

Walker is doing the right thing. He is leading with realistic things that can be done. Not pie in the sky BS that will never happen.

Good Morning, Naps!

What things has Gov Walker proposed to do as President that make you support him? I like specifics and that’s why I like Cruz, but maybe Walker has proposed specifics as well.

Well he proposes additional charter schools. He knows that abolishing the Department of Education would not happen unless you were a dictator. He would abolish unions in the federal government although luckily you can be a federal worker but not pay dues and still be represented by the union which is a step in the right direction. Federal Workers don’t need a union at all and Governor Walker is the only candidate to take on the unions. No other candidate has done so. Governor Walker took away tuition for illegals in the state. No other candidate has done that at all. Governor Walker has passed stricter abortion laws in his state as no other candidate has done that. Ok so Governor Walker attended a reception for a gay couple....still didn’t attend the actual wedding so as far as I am concerned he attended a party for two gay people. Walker has managed to take his debt ridden state and make it into a surplus of funding. No other candidate has done that. Governor Walker has a strict immigration stance although at this time he has not gone over the top with deporting every illegal in the country. He knows it would be impossible and doesn’t want to look like either an idiot or a liar so he doesn’t mention it. He is not a proponent for foreigners coming over to take American jobs in tech as other candidates yell from the roof tops with support of it. And Walker has been vetted 3 times at least and they can’t manage to find any skeletons. Those are just a minute reasons that I am supporting Walker.

Oops. I went back and read your reply and actually I didn’t answer your question, but I will now but please read both replies to you.

I don’t want to hear proposals from Walker on what he would do as President. I find that all a bunch of malarky. Giving speeches about what you will do is hot air and means nothing. Walker is better off not even going in that dumb direction. You boast on what you have accomplished not what you hope to accomplish. Presidents cannot predict the future. What if Walker proposes to do this and that but then a National emergency happens and that is his focus for 4 or 8 years...all those proposals are out the window as he needs to take action and stay focused on what is happening at the time. Presidents have a liquid scheduled....any minute and that daily schedule is out the window if something happens. I don’t want Walker to make professes on the future. I want him to tell me what he has accomplished. Anybody who says they are going to change things is lying or not realistic.

I am reminded on the scripture,”Where there is no vision, the people perish”.

If a candidate cannot share a vision with a plan to get there, he has nothing to offer. How does one Lead, if there is no goal?
