If people want to judge it I think maybe they should watch and see how carefully, delicately and chastely it was handled, co-creator Peter Paige tells TheWrap ABC Familys The Fosters drew both praise and criticism this week for a daring gay kiss scene between two 13-year-old male characters. But, the shows creators said they were merely staying true to their story. If people want to judge it, I think maybe they should watch and see how carefully, delicately and chastely it was handled. We are not here to sensationalize or exploit anyone, Peter Paige, the dramas co-creator, told TheWrap.

From the article: Bradley Bredeweg: The one conversation we had was, Could you imagine if this show was on when we were 13, 14, 15 years old? Its that desire, like Peter said, to be represented and to have the audience feel like they can see themselves in at least one of the characters."
There are a lot of Christian kids but these perverts don't see a need to have them represented, do they?
Reading the comments after the article gives me hope, though.
So are they saying it was OK because there was no tongue?
They are trying to remove the “ick” factor. They want to create a world where confused kids see choosing a homosexual lifestyle is normal.
I have 9 grandsons & none, NONE, would think this is acceptable or even desirable!
El bingo! (a little spanish lingo)
I remember when The Family Channel didn’t air homosexual pedophile programming.
How long until they show the boys in bed together?
I can’t imagine letting my children watch something like this.
Calling that channel “ABC Family” is classic Progressive misdirection through language - just like “The Affordable Care Act”.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Seriously? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA!
Part of the ever expanding push to make the abnormal normal.
Example: Tune in to watch new season of following. Lead event...
FBI chief marrying her female partner......
What’s that have to do with the ongoing story of “ Joe Caroll & the Cult”
“...how carefully, delicately and chastely it was handled,
I would like to see someone get a handle on that one. You mean, you can show ANYTHING if you deem it “carefully, delicately, chastely handled”. There are numerous behaviors I could mention, but I don’t want to contaminate anyone’s mind.
Cannot. get. Away. From. THIS! Arggggggh!
After “gay” weekend two weekends ago with The Walking Dead, the Oscars and Black Sails, we watched an episode of House of Cards and ole Frank got hit on by a supposed bi-guy....sheesh!
Thank goodness for Vikings! Don’t think they switch hit in those days and got away with it.....
Well, hope none of them want to open a bakery!
ABC Family?
I wouldn’t want to see two heterosexual 13-year-olds kiss on what is, supposedly, a family network.
If they weren’t exploiting it, their supporters wouldn’t have known about it or trumpeted it as groundbreaking television.
After kids are done with the male casting couch in Hollyweird, kissing is no big whoop.
Sorry - the “ick” factor is HARD WIRED into the human heart.
Here’s a comment on “ABC Family”...
I was forced to watch it one day in the ER.
Ads for 2 witchcraft series, a zombie series, and 2 vampire series showed repeatedly, after each one, ABC touted this as “family” programming. They even said a couple times, something about “a new kind of family”.
America deserves what we get.
I’m so old I remember when guys used to like girls. Gee was I naive. Guess I was born this way or something...
