President Barack Obama will leave behind many legacies when he steps aboard Marine One for the last time in January of 2017. Maybe the Obama legacy that was the most unforeseen when he took office in 2009 will be the fact that his administration oversaw the resurgence of the Republican Party.
Beyond facilitating the conditions that allowed Republicans to retake control of the House in 2010 and the Senate in 2014, the most devastating blow to the Democratic Party’s future political prospects has been its collapse farther down the ballot.
I wrote about this phenomenon for Townhall shortly after the 2014 elections:

In 2008, when Obama took office after two consecutive Democratic wave elections, his party controlled 62 of the 99 legislative chambers across America. By the end of the night on November 4, Republicans were in control of 68 of them. The GOP was in full command of both the legislatures and governor’s mansions in 23 states, compared to just seven states where Democrats maintained monopoly control of state government. Additionally, 32 lieutenant governors and 29 secretaries of state were aligned with the GOP.

Last November, an interesting thing happened in Alabama. A group from Arkansas started running radio spots against a Republican state house member from one of the most conservative districts in Alabama. It made zero sense. What would a group from Arkansas (who’s board of directors was actually Washington insiders) be doing running ads in Alabama?
About a week after the election, the light bulb went off in my head.
The Democrats are probing, trying to see what works at the state level. Why?

That is the magic Number. if you can get 38 state legislatures controlled by the GOP, you can call an article 5 constitutional convention.
And you can pass whatever amendment to the US constitution you want and it DOES NOT HAVE TO GO THROUGH WASHINGTON DC.
Yes, you are quite right, our conservative friend, Mark Levin has been pushing for this to do a backdoor overthrow of the corruption in Washington D.C.

There are programs in place. Affirmatively furthering fair housing is bringing democrats to red states. And don’t forget Obama bussing illegals all over the country who will soon be voting.

I keep thinking that if it wasn’t for the ill-conceived 17th Amendment that Obama would have been impeached out of office by now. But the popular vote for the Senate has been too slow in recognizing Obama’s corruption and building the 2/3 Senate majority needed to give Obama the boot.
I hope that patriots at least keep trying to win 2/3 control of both the Senate and the House for the 2016 elections. If that happens then Congress will have no excuse not to use its power to override presidential vetoes (1.7.2) and it arguably won’t matter who gets elected president.
It’s called lack of will and political expedience more that anything else. These political animals will do all they can to prevent problems against any of their political class, party does not matter.
I actuality, both parties are so corrupt that neither can divulge the problems of the other without compromising their own culpability so things continue....
We the public see this but can not imagine that both parties are so bad so we continue to elect the best of the worst parties and wonder why they don’t do something to stop the corruption...heh.
We are the fools, yes, we do continue to vote for these folks regardless of party. How can you blame us as we have so little knowledge of what is really happening. We rely on the news media for facts but have been let down so badly that it becomes useless to try to understand what is happending these days.
It is of course one sided in that the media pushes the Left Party (these days it is the Progressive Party) but tommorrow, who knows, maybe the Marxist Party. Fickle it seems these days but leftist for sure.
This of course will eventually bring them down as Leftists do not like Media, especially media that does not do what they say so that will bring on rebellion even among the leftist reporters... Fact of life unfortunately.
What this really portrays is that the President is crooked and the media is crooked and anything that they publish is to be taken with a grain of salt - or taken as false (more likely). Media today has no connection with the Media of yesteryear! Take that to the bank!
Doesn’t matter. Even when we put Pubbies into power, they bend over for Dems. Even when the Dems are in the minority, EVERYWHERE, they do whatever they want, criminal or not, and NO ONE holds them to account. Our Laws mean nothing.....just words written on paper. We are a country that no longer ives by the Laws of the Land. We live by whatever the Dems want to do.........pathetic, elected Pubbies!
