10 Troubling Aspects of President Obama’s ‘Countering Violent Extremism’ Summit

The White House’s “Countering Violent Extremism” summit is barely underway, yet the message is already clear: the conference is politically correct — and far worse — a charade.

And that is a charitable interpretation.

Its sponsors are engaging in intentional obfuscation (e.g., saying “violent extremism” is the enemy), as well as peddling ineffective and ill-considered policy proposals (more community “empowerment”). The conference will effectively aid and abet America’s increasingly ascendant jihadist foes.

Reviewing the Obama administration’s summit preview, here are its 10 most disturbing aspects:

Any policies the put into place to “combat extremism” will be used against their political enemies, not against true terrorists.

What’s the over/under on how long the conference will go before it devolves into targeting “domestic extremists”, and subsequently names the TEA party, veterans, and other Conservative-oriented groups as the main concern?

“I can’t think of a single summit this administration has had that wasn’t a charade.”

You are right The silly beer summit was cover for his idiot remarks against the Cambridge police and this one called — if I remember correctly — right AFTER he started getting flack for not going to Paris— as some sort of cover for another stupid maneuver or non-maneuver.

The problem is that he thinks we caused them to become headchopping savages. Our evil oppression did it. Otherwise they would be sweet, kind wonderful people.
He thinks that bowing to them, giving them money and jobs will convert them from subhuman brutes.

Superficially that is correct. But what happens is instead of cutting off heads and burning people alive, they go to flight training schools. The other problem with giving them dollars is that they will always tend to instill political power in some thug who will wreck their economy faster than we can print money.

This is a classic example of this administration “never letting a good crises go to waste.” They see this summit as an opportunity to accuse those oppose Obama as being just the same as ISI and then using this charactizatio to attack and oppress them. All in the name of dealing with “extremism”. The SPLC labeling Ben Carson as an extreme instrument of “hate” was merely the first step in this regard.

For the record:

10 Troubling Aspects of President Obama’s ‘Countering Violent Extremism’ Summit

1. Contrary to its big government ethos, the Obama administration asserts that national security should be driven by the people, not the state.

2. The groups the president wants to empower are those who may pose the biggest threat.

3. According to the administration there is no profile of a “violent extremist.”

4. The administration thinks a key focus should be on non-Muslim terrorist groups — like those in Colombia.

5. The administration disavows a link between jihadism — a word it won’t use — and religion.

6. The administration continues its “mea culpa” campaign, attributing radicalism to economic, social and political disparities — but not religion.

7. The administration wants to rehabilitate and reintegrate violent extremists.

8. The Obama White House has regularly partnered with and enabled ”violent extremists,” without whom a countering violent extremism summit would not be necessary in the first place.

9. The summit’s very name tells us how fatally flawed the exercise is.

10. Finally, the key issues crucial to understanding the nature of, and means of best countering Islamic supremacism are not going to be addressed.

Many years ago a teacher would call something like this “busy work”——that is doing something just to keep busy and give the impression that something productive is taking place.

Obama is a master at busy work.
