See The power of Greek Fire (below)
It is a rule of thumb that when dealing with ignoramuses of all kinds, it's best to know the facts, history of whatever is being discussed so as to wipe that didactic cocky sense of condescendingly smarmy know-it-all look on their puss, telling YOU to get off your high horse, to disarm their repulsive ignorant sense of know-it-all attitude and instantly put an end to your own agony trying to reason with a moron, to have the entire charade over instantly in the quickest most effective possible, through the use of the "truth". The truth most of the time does have that effect.

0677 – Muslims send a large fleet against Constantinople in an effort to finally break the city, but they are defeated so badly through the Byzantine use of Greek Fire that they are agreed to pay an indemnity to the Emperor.
0668 – First Siege of Constantinople: This attack lasts off and on for seven years, with the Muslim forces generally spending the winters on the island of Cyzicus, a few miles south of Constantinople, and only sailing against the city during the spring and summer months. The Greeks are able to fend off repeated attacks with a weapon desperately feared by the Arabs:
Greek Fire. It burned through ships, shields, and flesh and it could not be put out once it started.

Whoa! Greek Fire??What is that? I never heard of it.
Being of such a formidable force and of such abject sense of fear I wanted to know more about it.

Comrade obama learned nothing from history because you first have to learn history before you learn from it.

” Muslims conquer Syria and Iraq”

Using the leftists language that should read “ Muslims occupy Syria and Iraq” - and do so to this day.

Watch Bill Warner’s “Dynamic Battle Map” of Islamic conquest to get a sense of the timeline and geographic thrusts of muslim campaigns. It’s interesting that they gave up entering Europe from the east and then moved through North Africa to launch attacks from Iberia.

Contrast the centuries long muslim campaigns and enormous geographic spread to the comparatively small and limited-time crusade responses to Islamic aggression.

"Abd al-Rahman III, generally regarded as the greatest of the Umayyad caliphs in Andalusia. Under his rule, Cordova became one of the most powerful centers of Islamic learning and power. He is succeeded by Abdallah, a caliph who would kill many of his rivals (even family members) and has captured Christians decapitated if they refuse to convert to Christianity."

I'm still thinking we need Crusades 3.0

When I was in high school and even before that, we were taught the Crusades were a good thing. We also were told that they fouled up some times but not that they were evil just they were not always successful.

I just got through watching a couple of episodes of “Batman” on METV. You know what they are called? “The caped crusaders” Yes crusaders has always been a good praiseworthy word.

Now we are supposed to think Moslem murderers are the good guys and our attempts to stop them and oh heavens, roll their gains back are evil.

I know Jesus and Christians are going to be eventually victorious but right now it seems Satan is in charge.
