The Planck quote is a good one. There is a great divide between what popular left wing culture calls science and science. Science is not a popularity contest and seldom is science ever settled and scientists that try to behave as if they know all there is to know are just making fools of themselves. Everything comes down to a level of faith especially when we expand our thinking past what is readily and directly observable and even then we are merely having faith that we can really believe our own eyes of which there have been experiments that cast doubt on even that being a safe bet.
Scientism is as much an ideology/religion as “progressivism”. Too many scientists have settled into a Scientistic ideology that in many areas of “science” disallows questioning or even use of the scientific method to test the beliefs of this ideology via experimentation.
