De Blasio has engaged in non-stop political action for his own benefit at the expense of the police
The guy who has built is career largely by railing against the police, and by opposing much of what they do to control crime on the grounds that it is beastly and unfair to the citizens, is having a hard time understanding why cops would turn their backs on him - as they of course did, literally - at the funerals of Officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos.
Bill de Blasio just finds the whole thing so disrespectful:
They were disrespectful to the families involved, de Blasio said Monday. They were disrespectful to the families who had lost their loved ones. I cant understand why anyone would do such a thing in the context like that.

As disrespectful as wearing faded jeans to the funeral?
You have to earn your respect, not expect it...
Interpreted as: “do as I say, not as I do”
Ewwwwww! I’ll bet they’re really worried about you now mare de blahblahbee0. Quit dissin’ them first. Jerk! (Sadly, probably a bunch of them voted for this assclown too.)
Everybody hates Bill de Blasio. Even Bobby McFerrin sings, “Don’t worry, be happy. Except for Bill de Blasio. I hate that son-of-a-bitch. I wish he’d slither back to Nicaragua.”
Respect must be earned, obedience is a right of his office. He must order them to stop turning their backs and they will.
As a small plus, de Blasio is making former Mayor Dinkins look pretty good in comparison.
it is called Rhetorical Stance, Mr. Mayor...
FU, debastardo, and your fugly “wife,” too!
“Those cops turning their backs on me shouldnt be so disrespectful”
He’s right. they should get in his face and be disrespectful.
Respect the office, not the individual. Respect the office by not “booing” him after you’ve turned your back.
Have to admit, I’ve really been enjoying your “Everybody hates Bill deBlasio” posts. He seems to be the one public communist who hasn’t been able to cover himself with positive propaganda.
He should go join his comrades in North Korea or Venezuela.
I hope that when he truly needs to police to help him, they refuse.
You earn respect .. based on your actions !
You earn disrespect .. based on your actions !
Suck it up , Buttercup !
Turning your back to office dignifies their resistance to law enforcement oppression.
The other option is a one finger salute .. which he more deserves !
Bill de Basio actions as NYC mayor did not earn the respect of his police rank and file nor other LEOs around the country. There is respect for the Office of Mayor, just not de Blasio. Don’t confuse the two. He should resign if he can cannot earn and provide the respect the Office of mayor and the people of NYC expect. He is a politician first and a poor leader second.
More than a few politicians, protesters, and judges are getting LEOs killed or wounded for doing their job. They are doing what they are trained to do. Sometimes they have to kill or be killed. Sometimes they have to shoot a dog or two. Sometimes they turn roguish for whatever reason. In any organization there are always a few bad apples and someone will always complain about the service. Good leadership addresses these issues and resolves them in a fair and impartial manner. Poor leadership blames it on the cops.
I’m not talking about the militarized SWAT teams or specialized terrorism teams with snipers and tanks and other sh*t which should not be a part of your average police department. I’m talking about your average LEOs which maintain the peace, enforce law and order, and respond when called in the middle of the night in your municipality.
Sitting in a car and being shot from behind is no way for anyone to die. Screw the job, family comes first. Next time people call 911, send out the Fire department or dog catcher. Let them sort it out if the mayor can’t.
Finally, good leadership is the key. If we elect poor leaders or hire poor leaders into positions of authority and not hold them accountable, that’s what we get. Now look around and see if you can find one or more instances of poor leadership. Hint: Think of one who leads from behind.
Exactly true !
Wilhelm got elected for two reasons :
1) Hewas the deputy Mayor to Blomberg
2) He had the "Big D" (Dem.) after his name ! (he did not get elected under the CPUSA , or Working Families party)
It was the "Big D" that got him elected.
