Rep. Michele Bachmann, founder of the House tea party caucus and a high-profile spokeswoman for conservatives during her eight years in Congress, has no plans to run for another office right now. Instead, shell live in Minnesota, give speeches around the country and write a nationally syndicated column. Here's a look back at her political career.

Her brother is a TV weatherman for the CBS station here in Kansas City.
She backed Mitt.
The end.
She’s got muzzles figured correctly.
But that is usually not the case with true conservatives.
Then helped one stay in power by backing his loser opponent and ignoring the whole point of the TEA party she was supposedly a darling of.
For various reasons, she would have struggled to win her seat again.
I never knew that. Some families have a culture that makes them more likely to become public figures. I expect Michele will be back before the cameras before the end of next year.
She likes to talk, discuss and argue in front of an audience, she’s attractive to look at. She seems to be a kind person who is capable of being very tough when need be.
She sure road that resemblance to Sarah Palin to advantage, Bachmann was never anything substantive herself.
She was always fighting...
She was always getting in the way and making bizarre gaffes, she hurt Palin and attacked her, she supported Romney and served as his stalking dog, she never had any real juice or power, or effectiveness.
The house leadership just rode right over her, and now that all this is clear, she has left her seat.
She was flaky as all get out, her voting was fine, but she was never meant for anything in leadership.
I found her personal and professional embellishments off putting and at times down right disingenuous.
Not a fan of hers at all and rather glad she is out.
Yeah, I didn’t catch the sarcasm.
It is not pleasant to be so negative about a congressman that was a conservative vote, but I agree with your description, she was flaky, and her and Tina Fey were a curse to Governor Palin, with them both riding her image into the ground.
Oh absolutely! And when Bhoner stripped her of power and told her to STFU, she boldly and with great conviction hid under a rock and was all but silent for 2 freaking years.
“You won’t have Nixon to kick around any more.” - Richard Nixon, 1962.
You need to look back through the timeline and read it and the events surrounding it. He benched her. Leading up to Romney’s big fail, MB was everywhere. Following the Fail she was invisible, silent, and only trotted out on rare occasion as the GOP purged conservatism from the public eye.
Why? She ran against Romney in the Primary, cost the GOP money, then fell into loving support. She Rebelled briefly but served her purpose and like any other useful idiot, was dealt with. She then announced her resignation after years of bluster about saving America.
Bachmann did nothing with her fake “tea party caucus” in Congress. Attentive ears around the time she started the “caucus” recall hearing her say that it was just a “listening” committee — listening to what the actual Tea Party types were tea partying about — but only listening and doing nothing in Congress to block funding of Obamacare.
Bachmann is in with the Establishment/Bushes in the same way that Mitt has always been in with the Bushes... I imagine Jeb is readying her for a VP slot with an eye to counterfeiting Palin.
McCain nearly crossed the finish line because Palin dragged him over it, and some think Rove and the Bush White House meddled with the vote in 08 to make sure that Palin did not get in. (Rove wanted Mitt as McCain’s VP and McCain was talking about only serving four years due to his age that summer of ‘08, which would open a fast track to get Jeb into the Executive suite.)
Too bad we can’t ask Mike Connell what he thinks about the ‘08 vote because he happened to die right before he could testify against Karl Rove:

Finally, on Bachmann as a counterfeit Palin — let’s remember we know nothing about her, really. She’s never been vetted as Palin was vetted.
(Come to think of it, no modern politician has ever been vetted as Palin — including Jeb, Mitt... Wondering if Mitt also profited from Obamacare investments like Jeb?)
The men just shut her out, they didn’t strip her of anything.
There is only one thing anyone needs to know about her. She condemned Romney then promoted him. She never retracted, apologized or says she was wrong.
She is an unrepentant liar and a fraud.
