Bishop Johan Bonny wants the Church to bless same-sex "marriage"
La Salette Journey ^ | December 28, 2014 | Paul Melanson

Posted on 12/28/2014 11:45:39 AM PST by cleghornboy

As noted here:

"The Bishop of Antwerp, Johan Bonny advocates an ecclesiastical recognition of homosexual relationships. The dogma that the Catholic Church can only accept male-female relationships, he put in question in an interview with this newspaper. "There should be a diversity of recognition forms."

With his plea Bonny, is one of the first church leaders who attacks the absolute monopoly of the male-female marriage. "We have to look inside the church for a formal recognition of the relationality which is also present in many gay couples. As a variety of legal frameworks in society exist for partners, he wants to instate a diversity of recognition forms in the church."

Bonny, the designated (in fact, for the time being, most likely) successor of Archbishop André-Joseph Léonard, who will retire in 2015, believes that gay couples should be able to get a church blessing.

Nonsense. First off, it is not “marriage.” Secondly, how does one bless sin?

Maybe the church will posthumously bless Sodom and Gomorrah, too.

It truly will be the end of the world if this ever happens. I don’t think it will...

It should be eay for him to get what he wants - simply find in the Bible the passage where God blesses a homosexual relationship; then the church has no opposing argument.

It will happen but only after The Church splits into two factions with the heretics lead by someone like this guy, hopefully not Pope Francis but it's possible. The authentic Church will never change.

Unfortunately, the closest Latin Christmas Mass was 180 miles away in Coeur d’Alene, ID. so we didn’t get to go. I was half sick anyway. I hope you had a Merry Christmas! I’m sure in NYC you had your choice of Tridentine Masses.

So sorry to hear you weren't feeling well at Christmas time. 180 miles is a long way to travel when you feel crummy.

I'm a parishioner at St. Agnes in NYC - they have a Tridentine Mass every Sunday. For the most part, the priests are very good and their sermons are excellent. Fulton Sheen's old hang.

Happy New Year to you!

Sure, Bishop. All you have to do is stop pretending you are Christian, and stop making believe you revere the Bible as the Word of God.

The title of your post alarmed me until I read the entire blog entry. Melanson provides a thorough examination of the claim of the Bishop of Antwerp, Johan Bonny.

We must all be clear that Natural Law, as written into Nature by Nature’s God, trumps the whims of men such as Bishop Bonny.

As to whether the Pope will remove Bonny remains to be seen. If the Pope was still BXVI, it would be a given. But with Pope Francis, who may have a mind dull enough to buy into the Marxist climate change heresy - who knows?

First off, it is not “marriage.”

Marriage has three partners, Yes, I said three partners.

The third partner is God.

And God can never be part of a lie without some sort of backlash taking place.

So the Bishop does not follow God’s Word?
