The special show which aired on Discovery Channel of "Eaten Alive" was a dive.
Many viewers were disappointed with the anticipation of seeing someone engulfed
by a giant snake but only to see a man trying to pick a fight with a snake.

I need to go find my comment from a couple weeks ago. I predicted either, he would not be “eaten” or “the snake would be killed.”
As it turns out, both may be true. I recorded it and fast forwarded it to the final 12 minutes later. They “said” the snake was unharmed and released back into the wild. But I didn’t see the footage of that. And I was surprised at how quickly and easily they got the snake to relax its attack.
Be more modern and cancel entirely.

What next, a faux Human Cannonball? Somebody is going to dream up a new situation for this guy to do. There are people who will do anything for fame, even if it almost kills them.

To get so far, and have “the Dream” fall apart.... sigh...
The snake they caught was not big enough to swallow that fool - without the moon suit, maybe.
They distort the meaning of words. “Eaten” means to be broken down and assimilated by a living creature. The promoters and article writers deliberately used the word “eaten” to get people to watch.
As in all media hype, the reality is nothing like what they are promoting.
Why would a snake want to eat a big piece of plastic.

I think "eaten" has occurred once swallowing has occurred. Assimilation is more about digestion, which occurs after the eating. One can eat something and vomit it back up before it is assimilated.
In fact, constricting snakes often throw up undigested meals if they are disturbed just after eating.
At least Geraldo found the vault...
