On Black Friday, i drove to my local Home Depot. I needed to get bathroom lights, but because of the hordes of shoppers I ended up parking far from the entrance near the Garden Center. As I entered via that entrance, I noticed a sign stating "Holiday Trees here". Now I am an orthodoxJew and would never get a "Holiday" tree, but I found myself oddly offended. I am not unaware of those who have declared war on Cristmas. Nor am I unaware of atheistic leftists of all backgrounds(Catholic, Jewish, Protestant, muslim etc)that hate all religions and do everything they can to remove Christ from Christmas. But do any of these people buy Christmas Trees? Do they put up a "Holiday"Tree? Do the bean counters in Home Depot think that there is a market for non Christians who want to put up a Christmas Tree but won't unless its called a"Holiday" tree? Now I won't put up a Christmas Tree nor a "Holiday Tree", but I won't offend a Christian friend by referring to their tree as a Holiday Tree. What is next calling a Hanukkah Menora a "Holiday Candelabra". Or an Easter Egg hunt a" Holiday Hunt"? This is sick PC bull crap. I do hope that anyone who wants to purchase a Christmas Tree boycott any store that insults the buyer by calling it a "Holiday Tree".
p.s. I'm not dreaming of a White Holiday, and never will.
Just more politically correct horse blank.
It’s called a Christmas tree. It is not called a Holiday tree.
I never understood why the word “Christmas” was picked for elimination by liberals.
If one is talking of the holiday season in general terms, then I can see not mentioning Christmas by name. But, if referring to specific symbols of a specific holiday within the holiday season, it is nonsensical to change the name of said symbol so as not to refer to Christmas in particular. But that is where we are at with political correctness.
A few years ago, I complained to a Lowes manager about the sign that said HOLIDAY TREES. A couple days later, he did the right thing and put up a big CHRISTMAS TREE sign.
Boycott Home Depot unless they change the name.
call the manager of the store and tell him
Under the Democrap regime of a few years ago the State of Wisconsin had a huge “Holiday Tree” in the Capitol rotunda. Under the Republicans, it is called a “Christmas Tree”. Thank you Scott Walker.
A while ago, Target decided to not use the word Christmas in favor of Holiday on all seasonal items.

There was a huge outcry and they reversed their policies. Apparently Home Depot didn’t take notice.
I got my first Merry Christmas today. A nurse, who drew my blood, said it. I suppose workers at a medical clinic, associated with a Catholic hospital is still allowed to use such an offensive term.

maybe your local Home Depot is just run by a major A-hole.
Yuuuup.
My first thought when I saw the title of the thread.
The most offensive thing about it is the total silliness of it all.
At my new job we are having a “holiday” party. I’m sure, I’m like 99.9% sure that almost all our employees are Christian in their backgrounds, if not their hearts. We have a surfeit of Irish-Americans, in fact.
I just don’t know who they think they are not offending.
But, they are being very generous and closing for that Friday after “the holiday”, so I’m not complaining but it’s just silly.
The word “Christmas” has been picked for elimination by liberals because Christ is in it.
I was gonna say, “Holiday trees” are dead trees sold by businesses I drive past.
The Pole?
It is a Christmas tree. There is none of the other holidays near Christmas that use a tree.
I don’t mind “Happy Holidays” because I use it myself and it includes: Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year and even Hanukkah.
That made up Kwanzaa and any muslim “holiday” are NOT included.
Seasons Greetings does annoy me if they use it just to avoid saying Merry Christmas.
“Post holiday” sales begin on December 26th, not January 1st/2nd. “Holidays” is a euphemism for Christmas. The “season” is not over until the new year but that isn’t how the retailers who wish “Happy Holidays” see it.
So you have interest in Lowe’s?
;-)
“p.s. I’m not dreaming of a White Holiday, and never will.”
Funny, “White Christmas” was written by a Jewish guy, Irving Berlin.
I think a lot of ex-Christian atheists probably have fond memories of Christmas, and want to participate in that but strip it of its Christian context, because they can’t stand that part of it.
