Will ANY of these tired relics just go away? Why do they think the world can't spin without them?

And I bet he'll retire to a quiet, comfortable retirement in Sun City, AZ when it's time. /s

U folks don’t get it. Mony and efforts could be better spent on the magic number 60. WE already tried it in 2010. Get over it you Todd Akin fans!

Practically speaking, it makes sense to target a single US Senate race every cycle for removal of the incumbent RINO (this is what Mark Levin has proposed). In only rare cases will it impact the balance of power in the Senate, and it keeps the other RINOs on notice that we can take them out too should they stray too far.

It looks like the GOP Senate losses in the 2010 and 2012 cycles did have the effect of pushing the RINOs to behave in a more Conservative manner. The downside is that there were so many losses that what should be a 57 or 58 seat majority is now going to be a 54 seat one, going into a cycle (2016) where many more Republicans are defending seats than Dems.

Given all that, I'm in absolute agreement that we need to make it a priority to remove McCain, both in the primary and the general, in 2016. While there may be other targets of opportunity, if we focus our effort on McCain we stand a much better chance of getting rid of him than if we go after multiple RINOs.

McCain has been doing the same primary dance that Cochran-Barbour were doing earlier this year. McCain has people that connect with the local democrat organizers to turn out democrats to crossover and enable McCain to come out ahead of his primary challenger.

If McCain decides not to run, he will I predict, in accordance with directives of the RNC, choose a successor that will be experienced with the democrat allies in Arizona that can produce for the primary.

But of interest is how the RNC will get their cut. The RNC ‘sells’ US Senate seats to the highest bidder who they think can be packaged and marketed to voters. These seats are expensive. Chances are there is no candidate in AZ with pockets deep enough to buy the seat and purchase the RNC services. I imagine the RNC will cut a deal with McCain that he transfer a good portion of his campaign war chest to the RNC pick in return for pre-contracted speaking and appearance gigs in major media.

Matt lost because he was afraid to fight hard - he’d been in Washington too long.

Arizona is used to Mormons.

"viable challengers"

That is what helped keep Graham in for another 6 -- too many challengers who splintered the opposition votes.

Select ONE, at most, two challengers and support them. Otherwise, McCain will win another 6.

Problem with trying to remove someone like McCain is that they have very hefty war chests. They go to the locals who have country GOP connections that run deep and offer them money for their campaigns for their support. If they choose to go against them, support quickly dries up in the form of money and endorsements.

I could never understand how McCain and Graham win reelection. Neither one serves their constituents or the USA. Their war chests must buy off any opposition. I once supported McCain but that was in 2000 when he made a little more sense. Not since.
