Happiness is having health insurance only institutionalizes the idea that one can’t enjoy life if they don’t have coverage

In all likelihood, you haven’t taken a look at the new vocabulary of healthcare and the change that it has instituted in how we perceive health and, as a result, healthcare—these perceptions that underlie the concept of necessary healthcare. In fact, it goes to the very core of what we think health is.

If someone asked you to define health, would you say it was well being? Or a state or condition of the body and/or mind? Common usage, anymore, lies with the first definition despite the fact that it is actually incorrect. No matter. The point is that there is now an expectation of excellent health (aka well being) and thus we have been taught that such is a right to be demanded rather than realizing the truth that health is a state of being, good, bad or in-between.

The word that says everything about how Americans, and much of the world, discern health and what is due them is wound. Wound has come to be used to describe any kind of lesion that penetrates the skin, particularly festering sores caused by an internal disorder or illness. That is an improper application of the term.
