The Farmer’s Almanac also calls for a very cold winter. Maybe the climate modelers have a link in their code to the Almanac.

Here in Northern Colorado it’s, 1 degree with windchill, right now. We usually don’t have that kind of cold till January

Last I heard cold weather was one of the signs of global warming, as is hot and mild weather.
