The tendency of pundits is to address the decline in American culture and traditional moral values. The concerns addressed include the rather sudden, but widespread embrace of same-sex marriages or calls for the legalization of marijuana so anyone can get high without the fear of arrest.
You can probably name a few things you consider evidence of decline, but there is one you are not likely to notice much. Its the nations infrastructure of highways, airports, waterways and ports. Its only dramatic declines such as the decay of Detroit, once one of the nations most dynamic cities that get attention because it is so blatant. We judge the backwardness of third world nations by their bad roads and lack of infrastructure to support their economies.

Of course, Alan Caruba's standard cure, MORE and HIGHER TAXES to replace the infrastructure dedicated taxes that are being illegally diverted to Socialist vote buying schemes, after all, the taxpayer has unlimited funds and can pay any amount the government deems necessary to remain a "first" world Socialist utopia.
We don’t have the money because of welfare, food stamps, Obama phones - all the things that in effect don’t last and cause people to be unproductive.
The military decline is worst because it is going to get us killed. Not in the Middle East, here.
Yeah, working on one bridge for two years with no sign of progress and workers only visible at work on holidays says something about repairing our infrustructure. My guess, folks only working when they can get overtime will make the job last forever.
