I think the problem is going to be who runs the new Islamic states. Will it be ISIS style people in charge or those with ties to Iran? In a way I think Erdogan let the cat out of the bag on Obama’s true goal. Rearrange the Islamic states and have radical Islam in charge.
I also believe this is the reason Obama has not supported the Kurds, let the Christians be slaughtered along with the other minorities in the region. I also believe Obama’s long term goal is get rid of Israel and make it an Islamic state.

I believe that Erdogan sees himself as the ruler of the new caliphate.
They blame England and France for drawing the lines of their States and allowing room for the Jews. Obama hates the “colonists” as well.

The major issue for Erdogan, as for Isis and Iran, isn't the creation of the Caliphate, rather who gets to be Caliph.
