So we pull the ambulance from service and quarantine the crew, but are still are accepting flights to and from West Africa. Yeah, makes perfect sense.
Blood test?...incubation period?....anybody?
“Nip it” LOL very good!!!
I’m not sure isolating them at home is a good idea, unless they live alone. They are still thinking it’s not contagious until symptoms, and I’m betting that’s not really the case.
Isolating at home could well be infecting other family members.
Just heard on local talk radio that when the ambulance crew came to pick the Liberian up, he vomited on the sidewalk on the way to the ambulance. What happened to that vomit?
That’s funny. A Daily Mail article just yesterday said “The family of the male sufferer, who recently arrived in Texas from Liberia, could be at risk. EMTs who transported the patient were also deemed at risk but had received the all-clear today.” How could they have gotten the “all clear” when the incubation period hasn’t passed?

Bring Out Your Dead
Were gonna need
a bigger cart!
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
