"Real men don't hit women" is one half of a social contract. The other half is "Ladies don't start physical altercations with men."
Radical feminism and Marxism attack that social contract, to the detriment of both women and men. Mens' belief that they should not hit women is not an excuse for women to hit men.
At the extreme, if somebody attacks you with intent to inflict death or grave bodily harm, defend yourself with lethal force. The attacker's plumbing doesn't matter.
