I didn’t watch the speech but saw some of the commentary later. He made the speech for one reason only—to try to stop the decline in his poll numbers because of his obviously incompetent foreign policy, so he had to sound tough. It appears that the only thing new is that he is open to air strikes on targets inside Syria.
Cmon, first things first.

Has anyone of us in this once great nation ever considered that B. Hussein may be angling for the position of supreme caliph of the Islamist State of Iraq and Syria?
The only one who a commander in chief should have no strategy against would be his own army and his own nation.
On the other hand, if he were to hand our head on a platter to ISIS, they just might consider him as their legitimate caliph.

ISIS/ISIL is only well-funded because the US government and other world governments is either allowing them to be well-funded or (more likely) is actually funding them in order to have a well-controlled “threat” that gulls the ‘Murican people into giving in to more statist control over their lives.
