Sandy Berger? One of Bush’s biggest “reach across the aisle” mistakes was not to prosecute this guy.

Figures he’d be hanging out with Bambi now.

I am curious. Does this group include anyone who has “won” over there?

“If our president is basing his ISIS plans on advice from a man who got caught stealing federal documents, a man whose employer receives major funding from the terrorist-funding government of Qatar, and a man who was involved in creating both the Islamist state of Iran and the Taliban we are definitely screwed.”

Well stated.

In 2002 Sandy Berger smuggled classified documents out of the National Archives that detailed his boss's efforts to thwart terrorist threats to the millennium celebrations

And who was one of the figures involved in these millennium plots?

Zarqawi... his end was hitting targets in jordan at the same time as the plot was to go off in the US

Why is this important?

Zarqawi's group of terrorists were the ones who set up three cells in Iraq in 2002, including one in Baghdad the regime had to approve of, that were cited by Powell in the UN speech he gave in the runup to war on Iraq that the left dissed because they insisted Iraq and al Qaeda had nothing to do with each other and to admit a connection would blow their premise apart. They argued that Zarqawi wasn't al Qaeda because he had not sworn an oath to bin Laden at the time and therefore his group's presence in Iraq was meaningless.

Guess what Zarqawi's Iraq cells later became when they merged with the secular Baathists we were told by the left they could never do? They became AlQaeda in Iraq and did finally take the formal oath, and Ira's intel chief al Dhouri did too...combined they eventually became ISIS and after Zarqawi's death alBaghdadi took charge.

I can see this may be one reason why Berger wanted to steal those docs.
