Obama's ISIS Advisers -->A Thief, A Qatari, And The Man Who Created Islamist Iran & The Taliban
The LID ^ | September 9, 2014

Last night President Obama hosted a dinner of "foreign policy experts" to get advice about his ISIS plans. Among the guests were Sandy Berger, a man who got caught stealing federal documents; Strobe Talbott a man whose employer receives major funding from the terrorist-funding government of Qatar, and Zbigniew Brzezinski a man who was involved in creating both the Islamist state of Iran and the Taliban.

...Samuel R. Berger and Zbigniew Brzezinski, advised Democratic presidents during foreign crises: Mr. Berger, while Bill Clinton was weighing airstrikes in Bosnia and Kosovo; Mr. Brzezinski, while Jimmy Carter was dealing with the Iran hostage crisis.

...Let's start with Mr. Talbott president of the Bookings institute, as reported over this past weekend:

The NY Times reports that Qatar who provides funding to ISIS and Hamas (and gives sanctuary to Hamas leaders) agreed last year to make a $14.8 million, four-year donation to Brookings, which has helped fund a Brookings affiliate in Qatar and a project on United States relations with the Islamic world.

Does Qatari money skew Mr. Talbott's opinions? According to the Times report some of the Brookings' analysis is skewed but who knows what the guy will do when advising the president.  However, if you were president and creating a guest list for advice would you take that chance?

In 2002 Sandy Berger smuggled classified documents out of the National Archives that detailed his boss's efforts to thwart terrorist threats to the millennium celebrations. The crime cost Berger $50,000, 100 hours of community service, his security clearance, and his law license.

Sandy Berger? One of Bush’s biggest “reach across the aisle” mistakes was not to prosecute this guy.

Figures he’d be hanging out with Bambi now.

I am curious. Does this group include anyone who has “won” over there?

I found it interesting that John Kerry was to be at the dinner, but not the Secretary of Homeland Security (who?) nor Hagel for DoD.

He sure has surrounded himself with a group of winners.

I wouldn’t trust those guys to return my bottles for the deposits.

At least Bush had his Dad, and his Dad’s crew to call on.

What a loser this guy is.

“If our president is basing his ISIS plans on advice from a man who got caught stealing federal documents, a man whose employer receives major funding from the terrorist-funding government of Qatar, and a man who was involved in creating both the Islamist state of Iran and the Taliban we are definitely screwed.”

Well stated.

In 2002 Sandy Berger smuggled classified documents out of the National Archives that detailed his boss's efforts to thwart terrorist threats to the millennium celebrations

And who was one of the figures involved in these millennium plots?

Zarqawi... his end was hitting targets in jordan at the same time as the plot was to go off in the US

Why is this important?

Zarqawi's group of terrorists were the ones who set up three cells in Iraq in 2002, including one in Baghdad the regime had to approve of, that were cited by Powell in the UN speech he gave in the runup to war on Iraq that the left dissed because they insisted Iraq and al Qaeda had nothing to do with each other and to admit a connection would blow their premise apart. They argued that Zarqawi wasn't al Qaeda because he had not sworn an oath to bin Laden at the time and therefore his group's presence in Iraq was meaningless.

Guess what Zarqawi's Iraq cells later became when they merged with the secular Baathists we were told by the left they could never do? They became AlQaeda in Iraq and did finally take the formal oath, and Ira's intel chief al Dhouri did too...combined they eventually became ISIS and after Zarqawi's death alBaghdadi took charge.

I can see this may be one reason why Berger wanted to steal those docs.
