Why oh why do they hate us?

Judging another culture by Western standards is beyond foolish; it is dangerous. Prior to the murder, Steven Sotloff's mother appealed on video for the terrorists begging them to please not kill her son. That would be a reasonable thing to try if dealing with someone from our culture. In theirs, all that did was make killing him all the more gratifying.

What do they hope to gain by doing such things and then sending the videos to us? They hope to make us suffer. They hate us. And we should not take the popular Western view and assume that the very fact that they hate us must mean that we somehow deserve it.

They are @ssholes. They are evil. They intend to spread their toxic way of life throughout humanity. If that means they have to wipe out [in the most barbaric manner] the majority of the world's population to rid the world of the Infidel to propitiate the blood-thirsty war demon they worship, all the better.

That they are this way is not our fault. They consider themselves pious, yet they live in squalor while we are relatively prosperous. That infuriates them. Our very existence is blasphemous to them.

They are a pathogen and must be treated as such. We must be at least as resolved to live as they are to kill us. Wanting of that, our civilization does not survive this century.

The above is my response to the hand-wringing from the Left as to why terrorists would want to behead our reporters and seem to enjoy it.

Ascribing logical motives to an insane act is itself an act of insanity. The only reason we need to understand these barbarians better is the same reason we need to understand cancer: the better to eradicate it.

Excellent response.

The liberals seem to forget ... or choose to not notice ... that these madmen have been at war with the world LONG BEFORE the U.S. was ever even thought of.

Your response to the liberals would also work for them, the liberals. Substitute killing us with destroying us and the statement fits them to a tee. In reality they are two peas in a pod that share radicalism.

"Well, if we'd stop trying to kill them all! ..they wouldn't hate us."

From a liberal limey at my ice house/beer joint last Friday after work.

I thought my head was going to explode.

You might be a Liberal - if you think killing terrorists creates more of them, but letting them live creates fewer.

You might be a liberal if you agree with Obama that America is the single cause of all the world’s problems.

Yeah... his mom was begging for her son’s life. She doesn’t understand. In a perfect world for them... they would rape her first, then kill her son. She did not (and probably still not) “get” who they are.

Some people cannot accept that there is evil in the world, so they blame the victim — which is in itself evil.

In my guesstimation when a Muslim becomes “radicalized” or more obedient to their Holy Writ the alKoran— we call him/her/it a Terrorist. Yet I think they are as offended that America was established a “Christian Nation” Columbus sailed looking for a trade rout to avoid the dangerous passage to the East for Tea and Spices—and promised t advance the Christian Faith— and promised treasure to replace those spent by the war removing the Islamic Oppressors from Spain. Yet today too many Americans are more ignorant of our Sacred Writings than any “moderate” Muslim is of their oft repeated Koranic verse.

“a pathogen” well I read how Ishmael was blessed and the Lord God said he would be a wild ass o fa man whose hand would be against every man—and every mans hand against him. I hear this blessing was also relative to the term translated Heard of God. with all the Islamic Prayers it God ought hear them.
But God is not compelled to answer the prayer of an unbeliever.A pathogen—yup I agree with that commentary and the medical response to such communicable disease.
