Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson has likely never heard of Edward L. Johnson, a New York City Police Sergeant who was killed by an alcoholic psycho on a cold January day more than 54 years ago. But those who passed through the NYCPD Academy during the 1960s remember the story of how Sergeant Johnson died because it was part of the Firearms Training curriculum.

As the story goes, Sgt Johnson and his driver were called to a Bowery soup kitchen to back up a team of officers who were attempting to arrest a drunken, psychotic client who was using a 10 inch knife to threaten everyone in sight. As the supervisor, Johnson bravely stepped forward to confront the man. Immediately the psycho lunged at him. The Sergeant fired all six of his rounds, his driver did the same and the original team did as well. In all, 24 shots were fired from approximately seven feet. The attacker was hit 16 times and 4 of the wounds should have killed him instantly, but he still had the power to stab Johnson in the heart and kill him. The lesson from this attack is that those who are fueled by drugs and or alcohol sometimes don’t die immediately even when they sustain mortal wounds.

The story of how Michael Brown was killed by Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson suggests...

In New Jack City in 1960, the cop would have been shooting .38 Special round nose lead 158 grain bullets from a revolver at 750fps or so. What did the Ferguson cop, shooting a semi-auto, use in 2014?

Soldiers in Vietnam experienced the same thing. NVA and VC often kept coming despite being hit with shots that were mortal wounds.

The Japanese were known to have "had a few" before many of their banzai charges.
Lots of stories about other enemies of America - Chinese, N. Koreans, NVA - doing the same or similar.

The phenomenon of assailants attacking after receiving multiple, mortal bullet wounds has been around since before the early twentieth century when Moro tribesmen would be shot multiple times with .38 special rounds and keep on going to kill American troops. Indeed, that’s exactly why the U.S. Army had the Model 1911 .45 cal. semi-auto pistol developed. Those big bullets would stop any nut.

I believe, the officer, Wilson, was a hero in this. He did his job and was assaulted, injured, and put in jeopardy of his life for it.

My own reconstruct goes like this:

A large (6 foot 6 inch tall, 290 pound) 18 year old black man, Michael Brown, was shot and killed after a struggle and confrontation with a white police officer, Darren Wilson.

Brown had robbed a store moments before and he and his accomplice were walking down the middle of a street when the police officer, unaware of the robbery at the time, asked them to not walk in the middle of the street.

When Wilson pulled ahead and observed that they did not move, he also got a radio report of the robbery, and the two matched the description of the suspects. At that point, Wilson returned to question them.

An argument inured. The officer tried to get out of his vehicle and Brown held the door shut.

A struggles insured through the car window which may have included a struggle for the officer's weapon. In the struggle, Brown punched Wilson in the face, fracturing the orbital bone around his eye.

A shot rang out and Brown and his friend ran.

The officer got out of his car and followed, ordering them to stop. Brown turned sound and had more words with Wilson, and then, according to witnesses, Brwn 'bum charged' the officer who fired several times at the attacking Brown, killing him.

Once again a false narrative (a lie) has been concocted to play the race card, gen up violence, and serve political ends.

The same crew of individuals are involved. Obama, Holder, Sharpton, Jackson, and the New Back Panthers. All to the same purpose, as with Treyvon Martin. And like with Martin...all a pack of lies.

he also got a radio report of the robbery...

According to the police chief, Officer Wilson did not know about the robbery. The rest of your narrative is probably at least close to being correct.

I believe Wilson encountered a ghetto thug high on something, we know pot right now. As the thug was sauntering in the middle of the street daring someone to challenge him, Wilson did just that. Wilson “dised” Brown and because Brown already knew he had robbed a store and was also high, the fight was on and when a 6’3” 300 man charges and fights with you, he doesnt need to be armed with any more than he already has. Wilson fired and hit Brown in the arm four times trying to get his attention and when Brown was a charging bull, it took two shots to the head to drop him and likely save Wilson’s life.

I disagree. It now appears that is the very reason that he approached this pair the second time, what the police Chief was very careful to parse was "initial contact".

The real question is why Dorian Johnson isn't being charged with capital murder, assault of a police officer, and obstruction of justice?

It must mean that hate is really stronger than love if they can keep fighting out of hate past death.

Brown’s use of marijuana may compel MO not to copy CO and WA and make marijuana legal now.

He definitely did not know about it during the initial stop. Butbmy understanding was that it was reported over the radio before he went back.
