The police are saying Brown attacked the officer, reaches for his gun and pointed it at the officer at some point, then continued on. Then, when the officer told him to ‘freeze’ he turned and bull rushed the officer full speed (despite having a gun pointed at him) and the officer shot him multiple times as he kept charging.
The witnesses say there was a scuffle, officer said, “Freeze” and Brown turned either with arms in the air or arms in air and on his knees and was still shot by the officer.
One witness it the friend of Brown’s that was with him at the store they robbed. The other witness was in a car and said she saw it happen.
There was a report a teen girl had a camera/phone with video of the actual incident that was confiscated on the scene. Been unable to verify that and we obviously haven’t seen that footage if it exists.
Thanks for the information.
Considering how Brown took what he wanted and then pushed the store owner, it seems that he would’ve been the type who would rough up an officer.
Maybe the autopsy will tell us more. And hopefully that cell phone video surfaces.
There is another cell phone video out there taken at the scene after the shooting. While the video isn't all that relevant, a witness conversation that was recorded taking place off camera pretty much corroborates the officer's version of events. Ferguson PD has been notified of the video's existence because it will likely be taken down, once it's relevance becomes known.
Most witnesses are unreliable and in these cases we have repeatedly seen that they have an agenda. Forensic evidence is the best way to get at the truth.
She said, like dorian johnson, that the 175 lb sitting officer was trying to pull the 300 lb standing brown into the vehicle on top of him through the window or open door.
That obviously makes no sense at all.
If she is being truthful and did see it she probably saw the original assault and the fight for the gun and interpreted what she had seen to fit the narrative.
