The New Republic is a far left publication.

Why did it take five days for them to release this information, none of which has anything to do with the circumstances of Brown’s death?

The feds were there inside 24 hours so I'm guessing they were the ones keeping things locked down but the locals figured out that they were being set up so they went rogue and starting releasing info.

Sometimes it takes a while to catch up with a suspect to question them especially when they run the streets all the time...they may have been trying to find him to question him and he kept eluding them or maybe the officer just happened to run into him..

Did they listen to the Brown family acknowledge that the video was of brown. Now I agree that the police used very poor judgement with seemingly unnecessary secrecy. But come on folks, trash talking makes the truth go away??

Beutler stirring the pot again, eh? He won’t like it when his mischief finally comes down on his head.

Here’s a novel thought Butler. If Brown and Johnson hadn’t robbed that store none of this never would have happened. Eespecially for some cheap cigars but that doesn’t really matter because the dollar amount of the items taken isn’t the issue. Taking items by force and stealing is both bullying and taking something that isn’t yours.

I thought liberals didn’t like bullying...(the door swings both ways)

Why wasn’t Brian Beutler, author of this piece, consulted at the time of the arrest?
Why wasn’t the New Republic there to interview witnesses?
Why hasn’t Brian Beutler, who has watched all of the requisite CNN reports, been invited to share his opinion in the national newsmedia?
Why has the New Republic not been consulted on the fairness of the retail price of those cigars?
Why is this case about everything except a guy who picked the wrong F’n day to rob a convenience store?

It is standard procedure to withhold information during an active investigation. As a matter of fact, as was posited by the State Trooper in charge of the investigation, nothing should have been released until the investigation was complete.

Sounds like the local police chief panicked, and with good reason, and released some information with the idea it might keep riots from happening in his city.

It’s so tough to manufacture witnesses and fabricate testimony when you don’t know how much hard evidence and proof the police have on their side.

The Ferguson Police Chief’s Statement Is Only Making Things Worse>>>>>>>>>>>>

Yes, worse for two reasons:

1) The Ferguson Police Chief is White.(and not a race baiter)

2) He told the truth about 18-year-old Michael Brown.

Nothing makes things worse like one who refuses to bend under the play of the race card, and who tells the truth.

They're in denial. They think they can still push the "Unarmed Saint Michael" meme. There were 726 homicides committed in 2011 alone with hands, fists and feet.

http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/ucr/crime-in-the-u.s/2011/crime-in-the-u.s.-2011/tables/expanded-homicide-data-table-11

The guy was 6'4" and 290 pounds and is seen on video robbing and assaulting a little Asian guy half his size, five minutes before being shot by a cop.

Even idiots can connect those dots.

michael brown died for $49 bucks of stolen cigars he took with force.

that’s what he valued his own life at.

No, Brian, what smells very bad is engaging in five days of anarchy based on no accurate information and a couple of talking points, like “unarmed teen” as if unarmed people are incapable of killing or seriously injuring others.

Griping that someone else didn’t keep you from acting like an idiot doesn’t change the fact that you were the idiot, not them. Shoddy blame shifting effort notwithstanding.
