Political commentator Nicolle Wallace and October Gonzalez (wife of NFL star Tony) are expected to join Whoopi Goldberg and Rosie O'Donnell in September.
Wallace, 42, is a novelist and political commentator for MSNBC who has appeared as a guest on The View. The former communications chief to George W. Bush, she will fill its 'conservative' hot seat vacated by Jenny McCarthy. She is the adviser who prepped Sarah Palin during John McCain's presidential run.
She is married and has one son.
Gonzalez and her Atlanta Falcons footballer husband Tony are perhaps best known for their work for PETA. They famously posed naked for a campaign to discourage wearing fur. Priducers were eager to find a Latina to round out the show, according to the source.
ABC had a short list of candidates before the taping of the final show of the season yesterday, which airs today. But they weren't convinced about their choices and decided to shake things up, says the insider....

You need a new central organizing theory of the universe, that one is way too old, and a way over-used cliche here.
What normal person would even care? My wife used to watch The View years ago. I would watch it for maybe 5 minutes while she had it on. I could not take much more than that. I told her the show proved that women are stupider than men.
She agreed. Well kind of agreed.
What?
I had a snow-day around four years ago and sat there for fifteen minutes watching the View. I’d say basically....it’s for brain-dead women who are intimidated by their husband or family’s display of current events and knowledge of what’s going on.
The View takes various topics....splits them into consumable thoughts, and convinces the person of a stand on some possible episode. The stand is typically....liberal. Then the members of the View generally agree on the position taken and it seems to be a consensus. At that point, a naive person buys into the argument, and it’s all wrapped up.
By having one marginally conservative person on the group, and involving them in the argument...it’s a win-win because the four always oppose the remaining person, and you....the person sitting at home....feel like the liberal view was right because so many people took that position.
In terms of spreading the topic out and going into vast details? It’s not designed that way, and there’s an attempt to keep details to no more than three or four max. I would guess that more details makes it impossible for the women with no knowledge to grasp the full extent of the mess.
Given a choice of the View or reruns of Gilligan’s Island....I’ll pick Gilligan every single time.

Barbara Walters as the evil step mother. Behar, Rosie O'Donnell, Whoopie and whatever other liberal shrews were on the show were the wicked step sisters and Elizabeth Hasselback was Cinderella. They would all order Elizabeth around, yell at her and insult her.
They hated her because she was pretty.
That makes all the difference in the world if certain ‘insiders’ claim this, this should be in Breaking News.
Elisabeth Hasselbeck certainly isn't the sharpest tack on TV, and Fox and Friends isn't that great of a show, but she made a great decision leaving The View and going to FNC. She does it as good as the others.
Five minutes of the View and its clear that it is for morons, scary to think so many woman watch that show.
Please point out to me where I said “Darn, that “The View” show is the bomb, I think everyone should watch it every day. they’ll learn so much!” or words to that effect.
