Even more climate hysteria, and still no evidence
The recent toxic algae bloom near Toledo, Ohiowhich severely disrupted the potable water supply to this cityhas generated a lot of finger-pointing.
Climate change features prominently as a common causal target. The Guardian initially attempted to blame this years algae bloom on hotter summers in the Toledo area, which overlooked the following basic facts ruling out this blame:
July 2014 was one of the coldest months of July on record for the Toledo region, Lake Eries temperature during the last days of the month was well below the historical average and the average lake temperature for the entire month was about average, there are no significant trends towards a hotter July in the area over the past century, and there are no significant trends in Lake Eries end-of-July or average July temperatures since records began in 1927.
At Vox.com, Blad Plumer lauds a purportedly terrific report by the website Circle of Blue on the effects of northern Ohios cropland and land use on the Maumee River and Lake Erie. Two key problems exist in this report.

Algae blooms in Lake Erie every summer.
The incompetent government employees at the water plant who are supposed to respond to that screwed-up.
Well, it’s Ohio, who cares. Most everyone that is worth a crap,
and quite a few who aren’t, have already moved here anyway.
You here them every day, their voices echoing through the
valley, “that’s not how we did it up north”.
