The officer on the left pointed his rifle at Mr. Polster, who had broken no laws and had not threatened anyone.
Bill Polster is a second amendment advocate and constitutionalist who has been educating people about their rights to openly carry weapons for years.
A few weeks ago , Calumet County Sheriff had said that he would enforce a county ban on guns in county parks, even though the State preemption law invalidated it. Polster carried in the park, and had a rifle pointed at him by a deputy. All parties remained calm, and fortunately the deputy did not get out of control. Pointing a gun at someone who is not breaking any law, just exercising their rights, is not a valid response for deputies. From fox11online.com:
County officials met and say they will change their rules. The countys attorney will write up the new ordinance and from there it will need to be approved by county board.
For now, the sheriffs department will not enforce the current ordinance.
Most people would be irate if another person pointed a rifle at them for no good reason. The incident is particularly noteworthy when you consider that a Phoenix news anchor said that people who saw someone with a rifle on their shoulder would have justification to "blow them away".
It appears that Mr. Polster's activism is working.

It does not seem to be working that way.
The “cop” involved needs to be indicted, tried, convicted, and incarcerated. About 15 years sounds right to me.
Should be: “Don’t make them mad” not made...

Correct, it is a FELONY,
We call it “Assault with a DEADLY WEAPON” and it is a Felony Everywhere, 10-20 hard time, no excuses.
and any settlement comes from his pension and bank accounts, first.
Yep. No indemnity whatsoever. He pays full prie for his actions. I don’t care if his kids die in the street.
citizen just walking with gun == cop pointing gun at him
cop pointing gun at law-abiding citizen == nothing happens
citizen brandish gun at anyone == criminal charges, loss of guns and 2a rights
people forget that innocent people could have actually died b/c of cop thuggery and ignorance. having a lethal weapon shoved in your face by an agent of the state is a huge, huge deal. it’s seriously not funny.
“its seriously not funny.”
It’s also a serious crime. Google up 18USC242.
