Amazing!!!
Mrs Roentgen died of hand cancer 3 months later.
Burning Beatles albums in 1966... that was painful to see! I could ask how much those albums would be worth now, but their loss no doubt increased the value of the rest.
Anyone here old enough to remember the foot fluoroscope machine in the Buster Brown shoe store?
You saw the bones of your own feet while a salesman pointed out any defects with a built in pointer.
They were banned decades ago. Too many kids with glowing feet, I guess.
“They were banned decades ago. Too many kids with glowing feet, I guess.”
More probably the salesmen who were exposed to the unshielded x-rays on a daily basis.
You’re right, I should have thought of that. When you get a chest X-ray, the tech takes cover behind heavy shielding.
X-ray techs in field hospitals are often not shielded & cumulative radiation exposure is ultimately quite harmful.
The kid in the shoe store only got a momentary dose. My bad with the bad joke.
Never went to a Buster Brown shoe store, but in Sears Roebuck I remember those machines.

Damn, we old!
