Targeted Amazon Ads

Posted on 07/22/2014 1:06:53 PM PDT by chaosagent

I run Amazon ads on my blog and do pretty well.

But I regularly see targeted Amazon ads on other sites like Facebook and Weather.com that show me ads based on things I recently searched for on Amazon.

However I have not figured out how to do this with any of the Amazon Associate tools that are offered.

Anyone know about how to do this?

TOPICS: Computers/Internet
KEYWORDS: ads; amazon; personalized; targeted
Any ideas?

It has to be based upon the cookies of the person visiting your site. Some sort of script added to the ad space on your site. It is so common the tool has to be available at Amazon.

All I know is I get pummeled with ads for pizza right after I order a pizza. From the place I ordered the pizza. What is the benefit of that to the advertiser?

I also shop for bikinis alot. I mean alot. Makes for a very pleasing background.

Yes, I signed up as an Amazon Associate so I can run Amazon ads and people can order from Amazon through my blog.

I get between 4 and 6 percent on each thing ordered.

You might want to give Adblock Plus a try. It's free, works well and runs under most browsers. However, if you like your bikini, you can keep your bikini [ads]. Ever open a bunch of tabs and get a video autoplay ad, and ya can't find the damn thing to kill it? Now I say: 'What's an ad?'

Try Google Adsense.

This lady Ann Zeise started this site about Home Schooling several years ago and she was making $7,000 to $9,000 a month from adsense.

Google search: Ann Zeise google adsense earnings

Sorry, but I already do all of this. I’ve already got both Amazon and Google AdSense ads on my blog.

But in all the info that Amazon gives you to set up ads on your site, the targeted ad doesn’t seem to be one of them.

I was hoping someone on FR might have some idea.
