Well, heres some lovely news emerging from the new Iraq.
17.09 Chemical weapons produced at the Al Muthanna facility, which Isis today seized, are believed to have included mustard gas, Sarin, Tabun, and VX.
Here is the CIAs file on the complex.
QuoteStockpiles of chemical munitions are still stored there. The most dangerous ones have been declared to the UN and are sealed in bunkers.
Although declared, the bunkers contents have yet to be confirmed.
These areas of the compound pose a hazard to civilians and potential blackmarketers.
Numerous bunkers, including eleven cruciform shaped bunkers were exploited. Some of the bunkers were empty. Some of the bunkers contained large quantitiesof unfilled chemical munitions, conventional munitions, one-ton shipping containers, old disabled production equipment (presumed disabled under UNSCOM supervision), and other hazardous industrial chemicals.
17.05 The Chemical Weapons Convention, which Iraq joined in 2009, requires it to dispose of the material at Al Muthanna, even though it was declared unusable and does not pose a significant security risk
However, the UK goverment has acknowledgeded that the nature of the material contained in the two bunkers would make the destruction process difficult and technically challenging.
Im sure the terrorists can find some diabolical use, even for unusable chemical weapons.
ISIS also reportedly is flying its flag over a key Iraqi oil refinery.
President Obama delivered a bloodless statement on the situation today. He declared that the US would not be sending any troops into combat, but would send 300 advisers to help train the Iraqi army.
The US military spent a decade training the Iraqi military, with far more than 300 advisers. The training doesnt seem to have stuck.
“are believed to have included mustard gas, Sarin, Tabun, and VX”
sounds like fun for the Iraq army
the stockpiles that never existed ???
now how on Earth did they do that ???
Lot of leftist peacecreeps will be eating crow if I have anything to say about it!
Wait a second, I thought those “weapons of mass destruction did not exist.” And if they captured them, where were they for 10 years that the US military could not find them? This is crazy and does not make sense.
How can that be? The Democrats have been telling us since 2003 that Bush Lied and people died, because there were no stockpiles of chemical weapons in Iraq!
That’s pretty old stuff by now,, sounds like it has had a less than well kept storage.. Here’s hoping nothing does gets out of there,, we see what has happened in Syria
This is just as bad as capturing the guy that instigated the spontaneous protest in Benghazi.
An ISIS flag, WE need to send in a Brigade with the Rainbow Flag flying, air drop a squad of CODEPINK on top of them, while they weigh their options like Obama, at least the interlude would be fun.
Personally I don’t think that is enough, I believe they acted in concert to Aid and Abet our Enemies in a time of war, we called it TREASON when I was a child.
What chemical weapon stockpiles?
Sure it does...I remember the statement so well...That chief inspector (after getting kicked out before our invasion) said “Unless they take us to where the weapons are, we’ll never find them.”
sounds like weapons of mass destruction to me
I thought the other Hussein DIDN’T HAVE WMDs! Or did have them or not! Oh what the heck. Nobody on this planet has a clue about anything anymore anyway.
Aha! You fool, Cheney used his teleportation device to hide the weapons in Iraq after leaving office.
Muhaha, MU-HA-HA-HA!
(Twirls handlebar mustachio)
“He declared that the US would not be sending any troops into combat”
As I heard his speech, I heard “I will not send any troops...”
So I expect Hagel or someone else to send the troops.
Then sometime later, bo will read about it in the paper.
And get really, really mad.
That country is gone. I miss it probably as much as you do.
The don’t exist, never existed will not exist. It is a figment of George Bush’s imagination
MSM (hands over ears): “BushliedBushliedBushliedBushlied - we can’t hear you!”
The don’t exist, never existed will not exist. It is a figment of George Bush’s imagination
