I would approve relocating it to a fire hydrant.

There are still people grieving his “murder” on Facebook.

(This is not a statement of fact. It is either opinion or satire; or both.)

Martin was the unarmed African-American teenager who was shot by a neighborhood watch coordinator two years ago while walking to his Florida home while talking on his cellphone. More accurately: "Martin was the aspiring 17-year mixed-martial arts fighter who was shot after attacking, knocking down and bashing in the head of a neighborhood watch coordinator who was subsequently proven to have been acting in self-defense."

“According to WBUR, Matthew Hincman, an associate professor at Massachusetts College of Art and Design, attached the small, cylindrical metal statue to a lamppost a couple weeks ago without any official permission from authorities.”
Hey look at me!!!
Nobody noticed my “art” so I called the radio station (’BUR) that panders to people like me.
Note to associate professor Matt: Next time use a spray can, at least the Graffiti Squad will notice.

By pairing Martins death with the Civil War monument, Hincman aimed to make a contemporary marker to how far weve come in terms of race relations, in terms of power and equality since the end of slavery, since the end of the Civil War. At the time of the Civil War, the Democrats pandered for votes by appealing to racism. Now, the Democrats pander for votes by appealing to racism. Some things never change. The Democrats always will be the Party of Race.

But just try to un-attach this without permission, and you'll be charged with defacing public property.
