That’s exactly what I would do. Broadcast that if the parents don’t show up to claim their children, they will go up for adoption and all former parental rights will be dissolved (Meaning they won’t be able to claim family here)
Or maybe child abandonment and neglect are just more crimes our government allows foreigners to commit?
The funny thing is this is completely impossible! There are all sorts of laws that would prevent this. I've been involved (tangentially) in getting kids taken away from abusive and neglectful parents and the bar is very high. These laws are in place to protect parents from over-zealous CPS agents, something in general I support.
So the laws already in place are being followed, and no new laws will be passed to make it easier to adopt these kids, or easier to deport them, or easier to deport their parents.
So, despite the many excellent suggestions for the obvious things to do, none of those things will be done. We're just gonna stack and rack and stack and rack until it becomes this overwhelming Sally-Fields-Late-Night-TV SAVE THE CHILDREN moment. And then we'll have some BABY DREAMER amnesty, and anyone (Tea Party types) objecting to it will be pilloried as a racist-hateful-child-hating bigot. It will probably pass with the usual RINO/SQUISH types like Lindsey and McCain helping it along.
We are SO SCREWED in this country.
