The Arizona Daily Star reports on an apology issued by Arizona Congressional District 1 candidate Gary Kiehne after remarks he made during a GOP candidate debate.
The debate also featured state Rep. Adam Kwasman.
Another candidate, Andy Tobin, chose not to appear at the event, which was hosted by the Pinal County Republican Committee. Pinal County Republicans unanimously censured the left-leaning Tobin in 2012, a fact which might have effected his decision to boycott the forum. The Maricopa County Republican Executive Guidance Committee also took the previously unprecedented action against Tobin censuring him by a 23 – 5 vote.
Although the focus of the report is on Kiehne’s response to a question about gun rights —- it’s his answer to the question on illegal immigration that actually merits being the attention getter.

Some people are trying to say that Kwasman is pro-amnesty because he worked for Cato. That is like calling Dave Brat a liberal professor.
