To the casual observer it appears that Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling will be destroyed by the media because he is a bigot a racist and a despicable person. He is of course all of these things, but that’s not why he will be destroyed by the media. Consider the contrast between him and George Soros.
Soros has been convicted of a serious crime he committed in France and cannot set foot in Europe without facing extradition to Paris for immediate imprisonment.

His sentence is a $2.2mm Euro fine. It does not carry prison time. The French government seized assets and he has been appealing the decision for years.

Soros made multiple billions selling currencies short. He did it with the Franc, just before the French went Euro. This wrought havoc on their currency and busted them badly when they exchanged Francs for Euros.
We have an extradition treaty with France, so, IIRC, Soros was convicted in absentia in Paris and was ordered to pay $100 million restitution. Pocket change for him.
Soros busted the Russian rouble, too, making its value plummet by a factor of six almost overnight.
The Russians still have a warrant for his arrest. They will put him in prison for the rest of his miserable life if they ever get him. However, we have no extradition treaty with the Russian Federation.
I’m surprised they haven’t killed him. If they wanted to do it, they would kill him easily. He would not be able to hide from them. He must be paying somebody off to stay alive.

As the author of this piece I apologize for the shoddy research. I misread the link I used and got it wrong as to Soros’ criminal record. Nevertheless I stand by my point that if Sterling was a bigger Democrat donor he would be protected. Sterling is clearly behind on his protection payments, hence the lack of protection.

If Sterling has been thrown under the bus it’s because he really donates next to nothing to candidates while Soros has ponied up millions and millions.
Sterling might be a despicable crud, but he’s not alone. Was it Jay-Z who wore some sort of anti-white medallion to a game recently? It seems that was conveniently ignored by all the people who are outraged about Sterling’s remarks.
