What is needed is an “attack drone” that takes out government drones which violate private airspace without a warrant.

I was reading about an outdoor music festival in Virginia. One of the rules for attendance is “No Drones”.

Not so much attack,,, but carelessly places fishing line all over the place to snag unwanted fly oveers.

I myself am thinking of picking-up a DJI Phantom 2 Vision+...
features GPS/radar detection, and with a few mods
you can fly-out 3 miles or so with first-person
HD video/still camera in real time...
any RC guys out there who can offer up their two cents?

Yeah, I was thinking that too. It’s a four day event with camping... south of Charlottesville in September.

Re: radio controlled airplanes with video cameras

From videos I’ve seen, they can get out of range and get lost. So I guess the GPS info would be helpful in finding it in that situation.

From what I have researched, drones are still too expensive for the average citizen to play with. Modified RC planes and helos are a more attainable platform to start with, then add things like a wireless cam and work from there.

The airspace immediately over one’s home and property. IMMEDIATELY over - not legitimate airlane space.

How high is that airspace? What is legitimate airplane space?

Take the first rocket to Saturn, turn left towards the Andromeda Galaxy and keep going.

It will all be clear to you in a few Parsecs.

Must be a full moon out tonight.

No, actually the GPS can return the Phantom to your yard... it has a ‘go home’ mode if it loses the controller signal.

Thats why you can have fun pushing the boundaries, just so long as you save up some battery

The Phantom is only $500, but almost $1500 if you get the built in camera

FAA regs dictate up to 1200 ft from the ground (not sea level)
