I want the GOP to win both houses of Congress, but not at the cost of getting home. This means that we have to have leadership and candidates who support the values we as Republicans hold dear, not the values of the Washington D.C. establishment.
Maybe if we stuck to just a few points, we can have a general direction home? Repeal Obamacare, repeal it not fix it Stop the growth of government in all directions - not slow it down, not cut the rate of increase, stop it If Republicans can't get agreement on these two points in the 2014-2016 session, hopefully with control of both houses of congress, then we've failed, regardless of how many (R)'s are next to names on the roll call.
If we can't get break through the 24-hour news cycle into voters' minds and hearts, and motivate them to support real issue candidates, not straw men and incumbents, then the GOP will remain lost in space.

Dont get your hopes up the replecants love being lost in space.
the GOP has no values
ObamaCare can be defunded but not repealed unless GOP gets 60 in Senate.
That will never happen. ObamaCare is here to stay....unfortunately.
Continually re-stating the obvious isn’t helpful. Tell him to get busy organizing ways of communicating the message since we all have known since Obama was reelected that the MSM will not do it. Conservative leaders have had time to put together the apparatus of a 3rd party, or to sieze control from Mr. Priebus by lining up big money donors to pull their support from the GOP-e if they don’t shape up.
Where is it?
We’re no better off than we were in 2012.
I have been saying it for years, they shoudl announce a FREEZE on government spendign
Let the democrats try to explain that a freeze is actually a cut, just like we have had to try to explain that a lower rate of increase is NOT a cut.
What caused you to excerpt your blog?
Really like this post. I agree with others, the GOP has no values and won’t change, but great post. But they don’t need to change as they know for sure SO many will still “hold their nose and vote”. As long as that happens, there will be no change. Ever.
“ObamaCare can be defunded but not repealed unless GOP gets 60 in Senate.”
Unfortunately, it’s not that easy. Takes a 2/3rds vote in both houses to over-ride veto.
Oops, yep. You are right.
I too wonder if the GOP has watered itself down into nothing more than food coloring and sugar (Koolaid anyone?). But a third party effort is daunting, and Libertarians have been taken over by libertines, with no societal rudder. The Tea Party is being fought by the GOP leadership. Without access to the MSM, I think the GOP is the best vehicle we have, but we need to reform it from inside. This is where the effort is needed. Primaries is the forum.
That attitude is called “defeatism”. I think 60 votes is not a “never happen.” Look how the Dems distance themselves from Obamacare. If the Republicans take the Senate (and I think they will), they can force the floor agenda and make Dems take responsibility for their votes. There are enough Dems who worry about their 2016 elections to get 60 votes. There are. Unless we cave in and don’t try because someone says it’s impossible.
I stopped believing that animals could really talk and that a pixie actually cared enough to put a quarter under my pillow 50 years ago.
Reality has overcome fantasy.
But if YOU double wish, you might make 50 cents tonight.
Good luck.
