Bruno underwent surgery for gastric bloat, which could kill a dog within hours.

cops have killed their own dogs in hot squad cars. did this one have an accidental discharge and shoot their own dog?
i think officer negligence that leads to death of a police dog ought to at least get the officer fired and personally pay the 35-40 grand the department loses when that trained dog dies. if we’re going to be consistent in how we go after on-cops who’injure or kill a police dog, they get a felony murder charge.

Your or my dog is barely worth a bullet to many police today. Apparently some animals are more equal than others.
