cops have killed their own dogs in hot squad cars. did this one have an accidental discharge and shoot their own dog?

i think officer negligence that leads to death of a police dog ought to at least get the officer fired and personally pay the 35-40 grand the department loses when that trained dog dies. if we’re going to be consistent in how we go after on-cops who’injure or kill a police dog, they get a felony murder charge.

Bruno was ambushed by a recently released gangbanger with a violent felony record and had fired at probation officers just a few minutes earlier. The shooter was killed on the spot.

I understand that police have a history with shooting dogs without reasonable cause and leaving dogs in cars. I can state that Anaheim or any other LE department in Orange County are not among them.
