I became confused when I heard the word 'service' often used with agencies and quasi-monopolies, and how the president is always glorifying 'public service'...
Internal Revenue Service
US Postal Service
Social services
Cable TV-internet service
Civil service
State, City, County & Public government service
Customer Service
Alas, none of them provide much of what I would call 'service'...
But today I overheard (overherd_?) a couple of farmers in a conversation where one of them said he had hired a bull to 'service' his cows...
right then BAM, it all made sense!!!
I hope that you are now just as enlightened as I am.

I was familiar with this use of the term “service” but one day delivering mail I had many postcards to patrons of a particular beauty shop asking them to come in to be serviced by a particular stylist. I laughed the whole day!
We’re all “serviced”.
But I say, “Service you, Democrats!”
Passed out in a hotel hallway = Secret Service. :-)
exactly!
Good stuff, I am going to put this in my blog soon
Thanks FRiend
